Practical Information

Hotel

We have reserved rooms at the Hotel Royal Pedregal, located at the address

Periferico Sur 4363,
Jardines en la Montaña,
14210, Ciudad de México, CDMX

The reservation includes breakfast (at no extra charge on you), but there are some mandatory tip charges that we are unfortunately not allowed to cover with our grants. Daniel will pay these charges and kindly ask you to reimburse him the amount of 300 Mexican Pesos (around $15.70 USD) per person.

Here is the map with the hotel location. There will be a van that can take 12 participants to the Math Institute in the morning and back to the hotel in the evening. Otherwise, the hotel is very close to UNAM's campus and you can take either a taxi from the hotel or Uber.

From the airport to the hotel

Before you go through immigration and customs at the Airport you will most likely have to fill out an immigration and customs form. Have for that the address of the hotel at hand. You can safely claim that the purpose of your trip is tourism. If the Airport officials give you a piece of the immigration form, please keep it for your departure from the country. Otherwise you may have to pay a fine and your departure may be delayed.

In the arrival area of the Mexico City Airport there are several places where you can change money at reasonable rates. Most of these places are open from 06:00h - 22:00h. There are also ATMs which should work with foreign cards.

To go from the Airport to the hotel we recommend that you take either Uber or an Airport Taxi. Airport Taxis are very safe and reliable; their booths are very easy to locate inside the Airport. We recommend you use the "Sitio 300" or "Nueva Imagen" companies. At the taxi booth, you have to buy a ticket for your destination; just show them the hotel address and they will calculate your fare. The fare should be less than $20 USD; please pay it in Mexican pesos as they will give you a very poor rate otherwise.

We recommend very strongly that you do not take public transportation nor street taxis to go from the Airport to the hotel.
