Pervasive Computing and Communication Lab [PCCL]

PCCL data will be unavailable from June 5, 2022.

Pervasive Computing and Communication Lab [PCCL] led by Prof. Usman Tariq, aims to deliver an all-inclusive outlook on novel breakthroughs in research areas comprising the user involvement for progressive digital technologies, the IoT, IIoT, IoMT, automated capture associated data science, context-aware computing, social technologies, mobility aware wearable technologies, and security & privacy issues. PCCL consists of a profound team of researchers that apply impactful research issues both by developing innovative hardware and software.

Mission

To promote and conduct innovative scientific research through national and international collaboration to increase the university scientific rank and bridge the gap between scientific community and business domains.

Objectives

  1. PCCL is determined to serve a significant role in research and development related to the pervasive computing environment in Saudi Arabia.

  2. Focus on the theory, design, applications, and development of innovative technologies.

  3. Involve faculty, students, and scholars in joint learning experiences across a robust network for deeper understanding and advancement of technology, services, and protocols.

  4. Adopt scientific ethics and set up innovative research in core informatics / interdisciplinary areas, while contributing to well-known journals, international conferences, and international books in prestigious publishers.

  5. Provide the community with solutions and decision support systems of a broad application range.

  6. Conduct academic conferences, workshops, online Training courses within the related knowledge domain.

  7. With the establishment and operations of the laboratory, affiliated students will become more industry ready by applying and designing the software and hardware applications under in-house expert guidance.

Value to the Kingdom

Given that, there is a great interest of the Saudi Government and service industry for implementing intelligent system solutions in the kingdom and are actively involved in promising areas of research. The application and solutions developed for Smart Information and communications technology (ICT) will be aligned to kingdoms’ vision 2030. We expect that the research-driven protocols, applications, and systems proposed by ‘PCCL’ will provide the solution providers with robust, reliable required enhancements to integrate in their solutions, which means increasing the reliability and operations of applied applications.

Training of Highly Qualified Personnel

The ability that ‘PCCL’ is offering through this setup is very emerging and innovative. This research lab aims to give stakeholders a chance to learn about recent technology and get prepare for the upcoming career. The lab offers students a chance to work on a complete development cycle, from conceptual to a complete implementation of the network protocol. With the growing potential of research in the domain knowledge, we aim to investigate dissimilar research problems which will bring socio economic benefits to the kingdom and is intended to produce high quality professionals to work in industry.
