Interlock bricks floor
This design enables water to passthrough the floor, allowing the rainwater to return to the ground instead of going into drains and sewage.
Insulated roof with elevated roof height difference
The insulated roof act as a protective barrier to repel the heat from the sun while the roof design help to improve the ventilation, allowing the building to remain cool.
The use of Eco bricks is an eco-friendly alternative to reduce plastic to build furniture.
Eco bricks are plastic bottles packed with non-recyclable plastic packaging to a set density.
Eco bricks prevent plastic waste from disrupting the ecosystem where plastic breaks down into tiny pieces (microplastics) and contaminates the land, air and soil.
Other than the physical structure built by finances and assistance from Tzu Chi Penang and GAs, the EPEHub is lovingly decorated with bamboo fences and banners.
The plogging events in USM campus aim to educate and nurture participants on environmental awareness, global cleanliness and sustainability. This event also encourages healthy lifestyles whereby participants collect rubbish while jogging. Plogging helps ensure a cleaner and safer environment while motivating participants to rethink their consumption habits.
We hope to make EPEHub an interactive place for everyone and to promote sustainable living to the community.
