Programs such as JTAlert, GridTracker, and others also use the WSJT-X Settings/ Reporting/ UDP Server fields. Obviously this creates a problem if you want to use our app while also using these other programs. Fortunately there is a simple solution. Most of these programs have "forwarding" feature. That is, the data will flow from WSJT-X to this other program and the other program will forward the data to our app.
Below we will give specific instructions for JTAlert and GridTracker. For other programs please refer to the authors or the appropriate discussion groups for help.
Please note that in most programs the forwarding mechanism only sends data from WSJT-X to our app, not in the other direction. This means that the big red arrow at the top of our app screen will not work.
If it turns out that your favorite program does not have a forwarding feature don't worry, there are other ways to solve this problem, including overcoming the one-way limitation. Please Email us (info@feotec.com) for more information.
In our app's setup instructions, step 3 of 4, it told you to type your phone's IP address into the UDP Server field. For the two examples to follow let's assume that the IP was 192.168.1.57.
JTAlert -With JTAlert running and collecting data from WSJT-X open the Settings menu and choose Manage Settings. A new window will appear. Along the left side click Applications. Then select WSJT-X / JTDX. See below window. Click the checkbox labelled "Resend WSJT-X UDP Packets". Then place your phone's IP address into the "IP Address" field. Press the Save button (lower right) and close the window. Some users have reported that it is necessary to restart JTAlert before the change will take effect.
(This function did not work in older JTAlert versions. If it does not work please update to at least version 2.16.15)
GridTracker - Bring up GridTracker and choose the Settings button (along the right side, see below illustration)
A new window should appear (see below illustration). Under the General tab there is a box labelled "Forward UDP Messages". In the IP field type the IP address of your phone. Then click the Enabled button just below the Port field. The change should take effect immediately.
