"Love in This Club" reached number one in New Zealand and the United States as well as the top 10 in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Norway, Scotland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The accompanying music video, which received a nomination at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, features cameo appearances from several musicians. In the video, R&B singer Keri Hilson plays Usher's love interest in a club. Usher performed the song at the 2008 BET Awards, as well as on several television programs. A remix of the song, titled "Love in This Club Part II", features Beyonc and Lil Wayne.

Atlanta-based music producer Polow da Don was inspired to create a beat during his weekend stay in Las Vegas for the MTV Video Music Awards. He said of the song, "If you listen to the beat, the synths and everything has a [Las] Vegas feel to it. Making love in the club, people in [Las] Vegas are kinda wild." He also noted its Euro influences. When he finished working on the material, da Don felt it fit for Usher, hoping that it would keep female listeners interested in Usher's music, as his popularity had declined among women since his marriage to stylist Tameka Foster in July 2007.[1][2] Da Don and Usher wrote the track with rapper Young Jeezy, Darnell Dalton, Ryon Lovett, Lamar Taylor and Keith Thomas, and it was recorded at Zac Recording, Atlanta and Hitland Studios, Alpharetta.[3]

About.com's Mark Edward Nero wrote that "on the song, Usher talks about a lust so immediate, so powerful, that it makes him want to get down [and have sex] right then and there".[16] The song's chorus consists of the hook, "I wanna make love in this club".[17] Leah Greenblatt of Entertainment Weekly called the lyrics of the song "libidinous".[10]

In February 2008 Usher said that the song's music video would be shot "very soon".[1] Directed by the Brothers Strause,[71] it features cameo appearances from Keri Hilson, Kanye West, Diddy, Nelly, Rick Ross and Robin Thicke.[72] Hilson plays Usher's love interest in the video.[73][74]

If your love for Edgar Allan Poe has been gently rapping, rapping at your chamber door, just embrace it and watch Netflix's The Fall of the House of Usher because it is a hoot and a half. Hulton Archive/Getty ImagesĀ  hide caption

'The Fall of the House of Usher' made me remember how much I love Poe and always have, though I spent far too many years nervously disavowing him. But life's too short to pretend not to love the things you love.

It made me remember how much I love Poe and always have, though I spent far too many years nervously disavowing him. But life's too short to pretend not to love the things you love. Look, there's a time and place for the spare, flinty, minimalist, you-can-bounce-a-quarter-off-it prose of your Raymond Carvers and your Lydia Davises. But there's also a time and place for phantasmagorical miasmas hanging low over the sullen waters of a black and lurid tarn, you know? (A tarn is a small lake.) (But again: You knew that.)

Wedding music should be many things. It should be fun, exciting and also should allow the happy couple to share their love with all of their friends and family. When choosing music artists and specific songs, it is important to have a great mix of those elements.

For instance, a pivotal scene sees Wiccan successfully recognise that Hulkling has been replaced by a war-mongering copycat not through the use of his superpowers or clever sleuthing, but by letting the innate bond of their love lead him to his imprisoned space-prince. Later on, Hulkling shows mercy to his captors because justice does not have to be violent or cruel, and compassion is a strength.

"Is "The Fall of the House of Usher" a love story, a comedy or a tragedy? Please justify." eNotes Editorial, 25 Feb. 2020, -help/is-the-fall-of-the-house-of-usher-a-love-story-a-51031.Accessed 3 Dec. 2023.

Between the three categories of a love story, a comedy, or a tragedy, "The Fall of the House of Usher" is a tragedy as it ends with death and is based in a dark and foreboding plot and setting. Specifically, it is a horror story within the gothic literature genre, which includes fixtures such as haunted, gloomy, or ghost-like settings, weather, and environments. This description of the house itself portrays this gothic style well:

Although Madeline and Roderick may have had an incestuous relationship, we don't see any kind of love story emerge in the story, unless we consider Roderick dying the moment after his sister does as a love story. Overall, however, a typical love story involves the lovers either spending time together or wanting to, but in this story, despite living in the same house, the brother and sister spend almost no time together. Madeline, of course, is very ill, but we don't witness Roderick staying with her in devoted care in her sickroom. He seems merely to be waiting for her to die from afar.

4.The tragic hero achieves some revelation or recognition about human fate or destiny. This is a "change from ignorance to awareness of a bond of love or hate." Not allowing an autopsy for her leaves Madeline able to rise and embrace Roderick in a death grip as one; a consequence he has not recognized.

The play was written by Lisa B. Thompson and stars Phoenix-based actresses Cynnita Agent and Racquel McKenzie. It offers a rapid-fire examination of the search for love and dignity by single African American middle class women. The play is directed by Bray Lawrence and is presented as part of the Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival.

The pair discussed their favorite characters, themes explored by the playwright and what they hope audiences will take away from the production.

The suit claims 17 musical similarities to Copeland's version, including the same title, a scalar 7-chord to start the chorus, the same hook in the chorus, \"I...need somebody to love,\" and the same repeating underlying \"Keystone\" beat pattern.

I love Usher. If I wasn't with my boyfriend, I would be with Usher. I know what you're thinking: "No, you wouldn't." But I'm telling you, on no uncertain terms, that I definitely would. Usher has been my dream guy since 1998, and nothing will change that, not even a song featuring Chris Brown (you're allowed to unfriend me for saying that). Usher has been Usher since he was 16, so it follows that he's got ALL the wisdom needed for life and love. If you don't believe me, the proof is right there in his back catalog, which I suggest you start listening to IMMEDIATELY. If you don't fall in love with him, his beautiful voice, cheeky smile and sexy dance moves, then there's probably a lump of coal where your throbbing loins should be.

From Usher, we learn the important things in life: how to love ourselves, when to let go, how to love passionately and how to dance. I mean, if that's not a playbook for happy living, I'm not sure what is. So if you need good life advice, turn to Usher Raymond, performance artist, sex machine and all-around genius. Here are 8 times Usher gave me good life and love advice:

Usher had some trouble when he wanted to leave his girlfriend for his best female friend in "You Make Me Wanna", which goes to show that platonic friendships aren't always possible. It also teaches us that the most fulfilling romantic relationships can occur when two people are best friends as well as lovers.

Sure, Usher's got songs about playing it fast and loose in the love game, but hey, he's a good looking guy! He's also a guy who, when he's in love (like he was with Chili, way back when), he's in LOVE. From Usher we can learn that real men aren't total assholes when it comes to their feelings and committing to a woman.

"Burn" and "Climax" might be two of the more heart-wrenching breakup songs of all time. They both paint a deeply intimate picture of a relationship that has reached its end, not through one specific event, but by erosion called by time and individual hubris. Usher knows that breaking up is a beautiful sadness, that it doesn't always happen with shouting and a big bang, and that love isn't always enough to keep two people together.

TACOMA, Wash. -- Like the beloved baseball team of his childhood, Chester Rito started out in Brooklyn before heading westward across the country. His eventual destination was not Los Angeles but Tacoma, Wash., home of the Seattle Mariners' Triple-A affiliate.

Over the past 14 seasons, Rito has been a fixture at the Rainiers' home of Cheney Stadium, working as an usher and using that position as a vehicle for sharing his copious love for, and knowledge of, baseball. Rito's passion for the sport is over 70 years strong, dating back to when he was a Dodgers-obsessed kid listening to Vin Scully on the radio, or even better, sitting in the stands at Ebbets Field.

Over the years Rito has established himself as one of Cheney Stadium's most revered gameday employees. The esteem in which he held is perhaps best exemplified by the team's Heroes of R City comic book, produced in 2019. The first hero featured is "The Usher," which details Rito's background and ballpark influence. "Beloved by fans, young and old," it concludes. "A South Sound treasure whose sincerity, kindness, and uncanny love of baseball warms the heart of all who know him."

When I first heard this song I laughed my ass off. I seriously don't think most people listen to the lyrics of songs like this. Basically Usher is singing about wanting to fuck some random girl he met in a dance club in exchange for buying her drinks. It just so happens that she has a bunch of female friends and he says that his friends will take care of them sexually, while he bones her. She seems to be a little shy but he claims that they can do the deed discretely and nobody will notice. In fact, he says he doesn't actually care if someone is watching. I will give Usher a brake though. Some women are so hot you just want to jump them on the spot. Telling a woman that you wish you could make love to her right there in the club shows just how attracted to her you are. It doesn't mean you are actually willing to drop trou and fuck like animals. be457b7860
