I am having trouble coming up with useful expressions to control X Gen fur, especially the curvature and rotation of the splines . I am new to regular expressions and have just started learning some. I was wondering what are some of the most commonly used regular expressions by the programmers. Put it in another way, I would like to know what are the regular expressions most useful for? How can they help me in my every day tasks? I would prefer to know regular expressions useful for every day programming, not occasionally used regular expressions such email address matching.

Edit: Most of the answers include regular expressions to match email addresses, URLs, dates, phone numbers etc. Please note that not all programmers have to worry about these things in their every day tasks. I would like to know some more generic uses of regular expressions, if there are any, which programmers in general (may) use regardless what language are domain they are working in.

Think about input fields that require validation, such as zip codes, telephone numbers, et cetera. Regular expressions are very utilized to validate those. Also, take a look at this site, which contains many tutorials, and many more examples, some of which I present next:

Well... I kind of think your question is wrong. It sounds like you're asking about regular expressions that could/should be as much a part of one's coding, or nearly so, as things like mathematical operators. Really, if your code depends that pervasively on regular expressions, you're probably doing something very wrong. For pervasive use throughout code, you want to use data structures that are better defined and more efficient to work with than regular-expression-managed strings.

The creation of protein libraries by random mutagenesis and cassette mutagenesis has proven to be a successful method of protein engineering. Appropriate statistical analysis is important for the proper construction of these libraries and even more important for the interpretation of data from these libraries. We present simple mathematical expressions useful in the creation and evaluation of such libraries. These equations are useful in estimating the distribution of mutations, the degeneracy of the library and the frequency of a particular clone in the library. In addition, general equations addressing the probability that a particular clone is in a library, the probability that a library is complete, and as the consequences of retransformation of the library on these probabilities are presented.

Every year on November 13th, a wave of warmth and care sweeps across the globe for World Kindness Day. This special day began in 1998, introduced by the World Kindness Movement, with the aim to highlight kind and caring acts. Here are some useful expressions and ideas that you might find helpful.

I started learning Spanish seven years ago, and one of my biggest linguistic challenges is keeping the two languages separate in my brain as they are both Latinate languages and there are many similarities (which can be useful when beginning) but there are many significant distinctions between them and it is easy to slip into using the grammar system of the other language.

After the GCSE, I spent a month in Italy where I got plenty of chance to speak with Italians which was great, and as a result I picked up more expressions as people chat more informally than the slightly scripted formal language style when studying for an exam.

There are some useful expressions that can be used to do things like reference the variable for the environment guid, flow run id, flow's display name, etc. Below are some things you should be able to copy and paste into the action fields (not the dynamic flyout) and it'll turn it into an expression where needed.

Let's hope it won't happen, but if it does, we'll handle the problem then."
