SEE THE WORK OF THE STUDENTS
A compilation of XA Artists in residence projects for the Lowell Astronomy Discovery Theater Summer 2024. Featuring XA student Daniel Chit who was animation mentor for Navajo/Dine artist, Jara Nez, and XA students Zeping Sun and Sijia Zheng who created immersive works for the Universe theater.
XA Graduate student Zeping Sun was responsible for the grand finale in the Universe Theater animating scientific data using the process of sonification - converting data to sound. Zeping is also working on a visualization illustrating how light travels from the sun bounces off the icy surface of Pluto and is then captured by the Lowell Discovery telescope
