On September 5th and 6th, 2024, the city of Córdoba hosted the Youth Sports Days, an event that brought together young people from different countries under the banner of inclusion, fun, and collaboration. Organized as part of the "United in Sport" project and co-funded by the Erasmus+ Sport program, the event welcomed participants from Italy, Spain, and Poland, alongside local students from Córdoba's schools and the Estrella Azahara Association.
These two exciting and dynamic days provided a unique opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle through sports while encouraging cultural and methodological exchange. Collaboration with international partners created an atmosphere of sharing and learning, where participants were able to discuss new educational and sports techniques, with a special focus on methodologies used in vulnerable contexts.
Among the activities that energized the event, the sports gymkhana stood out as a favorite, with challenges designed to stimulate teamwork, cooperation, and group spirit. The karate demonstration also captured everyone's attention, not only for the technical skills displayed but also for the values of discipline and respect that this martial art teaches. One of the most creative moments was the making of a collective graffiti mural, where young artists joined forces to depict themes of inclusion and diversity.
The presence of partners, including local schools and the Estrella Azahara Association, was key to enriching the experience. Estrella Azahara, which works closely with children and families in vulnerable situations, offered valuable insights into how sports can be a tool for empowerment and social change.
This event was not just an opportunity for fun and physical activity; it also represented a significant occasion to explore educational practices used in the participating countries. The exchange of methodologies inspired professionals to find new solutions to improve the opportunities available to young people in vulnerable contexts.
The event was a great success, thanks to the contributions of all the partners, volunteers, and, of course, the young participants, who demonstrated how sports can be a vehicle for change and growth. Together, we are building a better future through international collaboration and a passion for sports.
A big thank you to everyone who made these days of inclusion, fun, and learning possible!
