Biography

Urmila Shrawankar received PhD degree in Computer Sci & Engg from SGB Amravati University and M.Tech. Degree in Computer Sci & Engg from RTM Nagpur University. 

Her Area of interest includes High performance Computing, Advanced Operating Systems, Distributed and Parallel Computing, Cloud Computing, Real Time Computing, Algorithms, Assistive Technology etc. 

At present, Dr. Urmila is working as a Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DS), Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM), affiliated to RTM Nagpur University Nagpur (MS), India

She is a recipient of Best Teacher Award, 2 Best MTech Thesis awards, 4 Best paper awards. She has appreciated Excelled as a Coordinator in Direct-to-Student (D2S), Quality Enhancement in Engineering Education (QEEE) program by IIT, Madras. 

She is author of two books, three books editor, twenty one book chapters and around 200 research papers in International Journals and Conferences of high repute including, Elsevier, Springer, WILEY, Taylor & Francis, Inderscience, IGI Global, HELIX, IEEE etc. 

She has 02 granted, 16 published patents and 16 Copyrights registered.

Her biography was selected and published in the Marquis Who's Who in the World. She received two RGSTC research grant, one International travel grant award from DST, Govt. of India to attend and present her research work worldwide in Springer conference at Manchester, UK, Yr 2010 and also awarded UGC Minor Project Grant and IIT Bombay’s, IEEE TENSYMP-2022 Conference Paper Registration fees. She is serving many journals as editorial board member and as member, international advisory board. Moreover, she is serving as reviewer for many refereed Journals and reputed Conferences. She participated in many International conferences worldwide as a Core Organizing Committee member, Technical Program Committee member, Special Session Chair and Session Chair. Dr Urmila is member of IEEE (SM), ACM(SM), CSI (LM), ISTE (LM), IE (LM), IAENG, etc. Under her guidance 57 UG (BE) Project Groups, 72 (PG) MTech Project Scholars and one ME by Research Scholar completed their projects. 03 PhD Research Scholars have completed research work and 06 are working under her supervision. Her Series of Video Lecturers are available at UGC’s Gyandarshan Doordarshan National Channel.

She has handled many administrative positions during her tenure. She is also associated with different universities as a member of various committees like R & D Committee, Board of Research, Research Recognition Committee, Special Task Committee, Board of Studies, Faculty Selection Committee, Affiliation Committee, Technical Committee, preparation of Question Bank Committee, Curriculum development Committee and many more.
