Urban Fieldwork respects your privacy. This app has been designed for teachers and GCSE Geography students to collect and analyse fieldwork data directly on their iPhone. We take privacy seriously, no personal information is collected, stored, or shared by the app or its developer.
All data you enter or collect using the app (such as site locations, environmental quality scores, mood meter readings, perceived crime scores, decibel readings, photographs, and notes) are stored only on your device.
The app does not transmit this data to any external servers, cloud services, or third parties.
You have full control over your data. You can delete data from the app at any time.
The app allows you to export your fieldwork data as a CSV file or a PDF report.
Exports are created and saved locally on your device. You can choose to share or transfer these files using your own device’s sharing options (e.g. AirDrop, email, Files).
No export is automatically uploaded or transmitted by the app.
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, the app can use on-device AI features to generate optional analytical summaries of your fieldwork data.
These features run entirely on your device using Apple’s on-device intelligence frameworks.
No data is sent to or processed by the developer or any external party.
The app may request access to:
Location Services – to record GPS coordinates of sampling sites.
Camera and Photos – to take and attach photographs to sample sites.
Microphone – to measure decibel levels.
These permissions are used solely for the stated features. No data collected through these permissions leaves your device unless you choose to export it.
Urban Fieldwork is intended for use in educational contexts by teachers and students (typically aged 14–16).
The app does not collect or store any personal information.
