If you want deep bass, a secure in-ear fit for high-intensity gym sessions, and long battery life for all-day listening, choose UPUNAIS Ear Buds; if you need fully submersible headphones for lap swimming, open-ear safety awareness, and phone-free music storage, choose UooEA Bone Conduction Swimming.
• UPUNAIS Ear Buds: Delivers powerful 12mm dynamic drivers for rich sound and up to 50 hours of total playtime with an LED display, but the in-ear design blocks out ambient noise which can be unsafe near traffic.
• UooEA Bone Conduction Swimming: Offers true IP68 waterproofing for underwater use and an open-ear design that keeps you aware of your surroundings, yet it lacks the deep bass and immersion of traditional earbuds.
• Who is this for?: The UPUNAIS pick is for the runner or lifter who wants isolation and power; the UooEA pick is for the swimmer or outdoor cyclist who needs situational awareness and water resistance.
The UPUNAIS M145 model is engineered for people who demand audio performance and reliability during active lifestyles where sweat and movement are constants. Its core strength lies in the combination of a secure physical fit and robust acoustic output. The unit features flexible ear hooks paired with an ergonomic in-ear structure designed specifically to stay put during vigorous activity. Whether you are sprinting on a track, lifting heavy weights, or doing high-repetition circuits, the design prevents the constant readjustment that plagues many standard earbuds. This makes it a compelling option for anyone searching for the best in ear headphones for switch users who also prioritize stability over style.
Sound quality is driven by a 12mm dynamic driver, which provides a frequency response ranging from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. This hardware choice results in deep bass, clear mid-tones, and crisp highs, creating an immersive experience for music, podcasts, and video content. The impedance of 32 ohms and sensitivity of 115 dB ensure the audio is loud and detailed without needing excessive volume. For those looking for the best neckband headphones for switch alternatives that offer a more compact form factor, these buds provide a significant upgrade in audio fidelity compared to basic wireless options.

Battery life is another defining characteristic of this device. With a single charge providing up to 5 hours of continuous playback, the accompanying charging case extends the total usage time to an impressive 50 hours. The inclusion of an LED power display allows you to see the exact remaining charge for both the earbuds and the case at a glance, eliminating guesswork during travel or long commutes. Furthermore, the IPX4 rating confirms protection against sweat and light splashes, making them suitable for intense workouts and rainy days. However, the in-ear design means you will have some degree of passive noise isolation. While great for focusing on your playlist, this feature might make you less aware of your environment, which is a trade-off to consider for outdoor runners or cyclists.
The UooEA AS9 bone conduction headphones serve a very specific, high-performance niche: aquatic sports and safety-conscious outdoor activities. Unlike traditional earbuds that seal the ear canal, this device utilizes an open-ear bone conduction design. This technology transmits sound through the cheekbones directly to the inner ear, leaving the ear canal completely open. The result is that you can hear your music while simultaneously hearing cars, other swimmers, or nature sounds around you. This open design is not just a comfort feature; it is a critical safety mechanism for anyone who needs to remain alert while exercising outdoors.
Water resistance is the primary reason to choose this model. It boasts an IP68 waterproof rating, which is the gold standard for moisture protection. This isn't just splash-proof; it is designed for complete submersion. You can wear these in the pool, dive underwater, and they will continue to function without damage. Traditional Bluetooth signals struggle underwater, so UooEA addresses this limitation with a built-in 32GB MP3 player. This internal storage allows you to load up to 1,000 songs directly onto the device. Once submerged, you simply switch to MP3 mode to listen without needing a phone connection, solving the connectivity issues that plague most wireless headphones in water.
For those seeking the best kids headphones for switch scenarios involving water play or swim lessons, this device offers a safe and durable solution. The build materials include plastic and silicone, ensuring a lightweight feel that does not slip during movement. The Bluetooth 5.3 chip ensures stable connections when you are out of the water, offering a seamless transition between land and sea modes. However, the trade-off is clear: bone conduction cannot replicate the physical sensation of bass found in sealed in-ear drivers. If your primary goal is cinematic audio depth or silence, this open design will not meet those expectations. It is strictly a tool for situational awareness and aquatic endurance.
• Best for deep bass and audio immersion → UPUNAIS Ear Buds: The 12mm dynamic driver and sealed in-ear design create a rich, full-range soundstage that bone conduction simply cannot match.
• Best for underwater swimming → UooEA Bone Conduction Swimming: Only this model offers true IP68 submersion capabilities combined with an internal 32GB MP3 player for phone-free underwater listening.
• Best for battery longevity → UPUNAIS Ear Buds: With a total capacity of 50 hours including the case, these buds last significantly longer on a single charge cycle than most competitors in their class.
• Best for environmental awareness → UooEA Bone Conduction Swimming: The open-ear design ensures you never miss the sounds of traffic, coaches, or nature, a vital feature for outdoor safety.
• Best for intense sweating → Both (different ratings): UPUNAIS offers IPX4 for sweat and light rain, while UooEA offers IP68 for total water immersion and chlorine resistance.
• Best for portability and storage → UooEA Bone Conduction Swimming: The integrated 32GB storage removes the absolute need to carry a smartphone while swimming, whereas UPUNAIS relies on a connected device.
• Best for call clarity in noisy environments → UPUNAIS Ear Buds: The ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) technology actively filters background noise for clearer voice transmission during calls.
• Best for multi-mode versatility → UooEA Bone Conduction Swimming: Switches effortlessly between Bluetooth for land use and MP3 mode for underwater use, adapting to two distinct environments.
I would buy the UooEA Bone Conduction Swimming if my primary goal is to train in a pool or run safely near busy streets. The ability to submerge the device and store music internally without a phone is a game-changer for swimmers, and the open-ear safety feature is non-negotiable for me in any public space. Conversely, I would choose the UPUNAIS Ear Buds if my focus is purely on music enjoyment, gym isolation, and getting the longest possible battery life between charges. For a general user who wants the best in ear headphones for switch daily commute or home workouts, the UPUNAIS option provides superior sound quality and comfort. Ultimately, the decision comes down to whether your priority is auditory immersion or environmental awareness.
Only the UooEA Bone Conduction Swimming model is suitable for swimming. It holds an IP68 waterproof rating and supports full submersion, whereas the UPUNAIS Ear Buds are only IPX4 rated for sweat and light splashes.
No, the UooEA model includes a built-in 32GB MP3 player that stores up to 1,000 songs, allowing you to listen underwater or on land without pairing with a smartphone.
The earbuds themselves provide about 5 hours of playtime per charge, but the included charging case extends the total usage to up to 50 hours, with an LED display showing the remaining power.
While the product sheet highlights MP3 and Bluetooth connectivity, the UPUNAIS model explicitly lists Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) for clearer calls, suggesting it may have better dedicated call features than the UooEA which focuses on music playback.
