Remember: The app needs to track valid gas purchases. It can only do that if you use a card. So, it will not give cash back on cash purchases. With that said..
The simplest way to avoid giving Upside your card info is to follow these steps.
Find the gas station of your choice in the Upside app.
"Claim" the deal that you like best.
"Pump your gas" within 4 hours of your claim.
"Print your receipt" and "Leave the gas station".
Wait a few minutes before you "Check in".
(Once you have left the gas station, then click "Check In" on the app. By leaving the gas station, it will validate your purchase by receipt only. If you are still at the gas station, the app will ask for your card information. If you want to avoid this, leave the gas station and "Check in" a short time later. It will ask you for a picture of the receipt instead.
Upload your pic of the receipt within four hours of your claim and you're done.
That's it! A few days later you will have the money available.
