Opening day was Sunday this year. Last minute high winds and lack of water caused us to postpone a day! It was a good decision. Sunday was absolutely gorgeous 70 degrees, light wind and sunny. We now know where all the logs are buried in the mud that need to be relocated prior to hitting them with a boat prop! Thank you to all who were available to pitch in this year (before, during and after)!
The dock is IN (Yay!) Thank you Jacob, Scott, Randy, Zach, Luke, Jacob, Rob, Robin, John (guest)
The outdoor bathroom is open for business (be sure to light a candle to scare away the spiders) - Thank you Alan!
The porch is super clean - Thank you Vickie for the solo mission (and even taking care of the windows!)
Thank you, Jeff, for the new dock section this year, - and Randy and Scott for the new hardware. Jacob and Rich tried to salvage the old, but the old hardware crumbled like coffee cake! We now have new.
Zane went to town with the screw gun and fastened down all the boards that were loose and cleaned by Don. Thank you for removing those tripping hazards.
A giant 50 food tree show up on our beach this winter - Luke, Alan and Rich tried to tow it out ot the neverlands, but could not budge it with the 200hp OB (without spinning a prop) so marked it for later catch & release. UPDATE 15MAY: We were able to float it by attaching float at low tide, and dragging it into the shallows at highest tide, and letting is sink. The tree is marked with yellow buoys at each end.
Pam brought delicious sugar cookies to the party year to keep the crew energized. Thank you, Pam!
Thank you, Bruce for showing up with the golden wrenches to tighten the nuts and bolds holding the dock together.
Thank you Robin for refilling the water softener with Salt to keep the soap suds a flowing!
Thank you Jacob for filling in the missing boards on the walkway so nobody would fall through
There were additional tasks that i am sure i missed, and additional people to thank.. If I missed you, please accept this word of thanks for what you did, and for the time you took to schedule around this day and make it possible to get the site ready for the year. There is still more to be done before we are able to ski, jump, and play. We are now a huge step closer to a fun filled summer of safe starts and happy landings.
Hope to ski ya soon!
