Lack of awareness about safe sexual practices among the youth is a major contribution to sexually transmitted infections like HIV, gonorrhea, syphilis, HPV infection as well as unwanted and teenage pregnancy. Uplift mentorship program brings together experienced, sexual reproductive health specialists, among them, doctors and public health officers to offer guidance, and create awareness among the youth in school and outside school on matters SRHR

Mentoring allows people to learn from one another and facilitates the transmission of knowledge. In education, mentoring entails partnering young people with an older peer or adult volunteer who serves as a positive role model. Mentoring, rather than developing specific academic abilities or information, focuses on building confidence and relationships, developing resilience and character, and raising expectations. Uplift mentorship program with guidance from line ministries bring together passionate volunteer mentors drawn from different careers to guide leaners into different career paths.
