H-MART Trip
November 5th, 2023
CLC hosted a grocery run to H-Mart with free boba! Members got to go to H-Mart, a Korean grocery store, to pick up some groceries to remind them of home! From bok choy to different flavors of ramen, members stocked up on groceries! They also enjoyed free boba from Mr. Wish - on us!
Dim Sum movie night

CLC hosted a dim sum and movie night to kick off the 2023-2024 year! This was our first event for this academic school year, and was such a success! We met so many new faces and are excited to welcome the class of 2027 to Penn and CLC! Members enjoyed free dim sum from Dim Sum House and watched the Chinese reality TV show, Running Man together!

CLC learened from Ying Laoshi how to prepare traditional Chinese tea with a modern twist. Members got to learn how to make oolong tea, green tea, black tea, and white tea! They got to make boba and even had roll cakes from Paris Baguette. Thank you to everyone who came out to learn with us, we hope you enjoyed!
Paper Lanterns and Tanghulu Making

CLC celebrated Yuánxiāo Jié 元宵節 by making paper lanterns and tanghulu! Club members were able to dip all kinds of fruits like oranges, grapes, and lots and LOTS of strawberries in a sugar syrup to make tanghulu! Thanks to everyone who joined us, we hope you had a blast!
Dumpling Making

CLC celebrated Chinese New Year by making and eating dumplings! We filled dumplings with all types of toppings, including beef, cabbage, green onions, mushrooms, carrots, and many more! Along with making dumplings, we got to watch Kung Fu Panda. Thank you to everyone who made it!

CLC had a social where we socialized and got to practice Mandarin all together! We walked to Chinatown where we got lunch at Happy Lamp Hotpot and dessert at Prince Tea House!
