UPECC (United Peace, Energy & Communication Center) is a humanitarian offshore infrastructure initiative — a triangular island, a matte-black glass pyramid, and 14 ceremonial "Living Sentinels" — built on one principle: for the people, with the people, and towards the people. All core designs are officially registered (BOIP i-DEPOT No. 157362).
Karim Adnoub has spent decades designing and inventing — from a childproof bottle cap to a patented automatic key-management system in the early 1990s. After years working across hospitality, transport and logistics, and following a conversation with an architect and pyramid expert who urged him to put his ideas on paper, he began developing what would become UPECC. He formally launched the project in 2007 and has dedicated himself to it since.
UPECC has earned recognition from voices across science, diplomacy, ethics, security and the arts, including:
Prof. Dr. Cees J. Hamelink — international communication & human rights expert, former personal adviser to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan: "UPECC is an important and absolute necessary project."
Dirk Frimout — Belgian astronaut, professor, engineer: encouraged the initiative and wished the project success
Prof. Dr. Ludo Abicht — ethicist, philosopher, publicist: called the initiative bold and courageous, and wished it success
Peter Janssen — Branding Engineer at LivingBrand, Lecturer at Vlerick Business School
Peter Blokland, PhD — expert in safety and organizational performance in high-uncertainty environments; former fighter pilot, instructor and commanding officer, Belgian Air Force & NATO; author of Total Respect Management
Herman Coorens† — architect, pyramid specialist
François Glorieux — composer
Ronny Kesteloot — police officer, criminologist, trainer of special security forces
Marc Bartholomeeusen — substitute judge, lawyer, negotiator, mediator
