Mission Q is a spacecraft operator training extension built on an existing Space Mission Operations (SMO) simulator. The project addresses the challenges of creating realistic debris-impact training scenarios, a process that can require instructors to manually configure failure parameters and verify complex subsystem interactions. Mission Q introduces a Generic Error Script Generator, Cascade Effect Preview, and operator-oriented recovery guidance to help instructors create simulator-compatible scenarios more efficiently and support trainees in diagnosing and recovering from spacecraft anomalies. By evolving from a single predefined debris-impact scenario into a reusable scenario-generation framework, Mission Q aims to improve the efficiency, repeatability, and accessibility of spacecraft operator training.
