지속가능 도시설계 연구실은 미래 도시, 사회 및 산업에 대응하는 도시설계 디자인을 연구한다. 특히, 동아시아의 급속한 도시화 및 물리적 개발에 대한 역사적 경험을 이해하고, 장기적인 지속가능성의 관점에서 현재적이며 미래적인 도시설계 해결책을 모색한다. 이를 위해, 리질리언스의 개념과 이론 및 방법론에 따라 정주환경과 커뮤니티의 복원력을 향상시키고, 기술지향적 사회에서 공공의 가치를 실현하기 위한 새로운 디지털 도구를 학습하고, 다양한 데이터를 기반으로 하는 도시설계 대안을 탐구한다. 

The Sustainable Urban Design Lab explores design strategies that respond to the challenges of future cities, societies, and industries. In particular, we seek to understand the historical experiences of rapid urbanization and physical development in East Asia and to identify urban design solutions that address both present and future needs from the perspective of long-term sustainability. To this end, our research focuses on enhancing the resilience of human settlements and communities through the concepts, theories, and methodologies of resilience studies. We also engage with new digital tools to realize public values in an increasingly technology-oriented society and investigate urban design alternatives based on diverse datasets.
