Dr. Cho admits graduate students to the University of Oregon Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program. Graduate students in the SEED Lab begin their training in the UO Main Campus in Eugene and have the option to relocate to the UO Portland campus upon finishing all course requirements for the program.
Applicants would be a strong fit for the SEED Lab if they (1) seek training in youth mental health services research, (2) have a particular interest in clinician training and decision-making for youth-focused evidence-based practices, and (3) have prior research experience in mental health services research or clinical child psychology.
Dr. Cho is not admitting students for Fall 2026.
Position summary: The Pro Tem Project Coordinator/ Research Assistant will work within the Supporting Effective Evidence-Based Practice Delivery (SEED) Lab (based in Portland, OR) to support research on the development and testing of strategies that facilitate implementation of evidence-based practices for youth mental health problems in routine care settings. Under the supervision of the lab director, the Project Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day management of SEED Lab research projects that aim to enhance clinical decision-making in routine care. This position is a 12-month Pro Tem Faculty limited-duration appointment, with the possibility of renewal for a second year dependent on performance and availability of funding.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's in psychology or a related field.
• 1 year research experience in psychology (can be volunteer, part-time, or full-time).
Preferred Qualifications
• Subject matter expertise in psychology.
• Previous youth mental health services research experience.
• Previous human-subjects psychology research experience.
• Experience with data collection software and programs (e.g., Qualtrics, RedCAP, Covidence), statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R), and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Access, SharePoint).
• Experience with qualitative interviewing and coding.

Undergradaute Research Assistantships
Undergraduate students seeking research experience in clinical child psychology and mental health services research are encouraged to apply for research assistant (RA) positions in the SEED Lab. In particular, RA positions in our lab will provide strong research training for students who plan to apply to clinical psychology doctoral programs. These positions are available for course credit at the University of Oregon or volunteer work experience. RA positions are available based on lab needs, and interested applicants are encouraged to check this webpage for updated availability. Please note that the lab is based in UO Portland, and preference will be given to applicants who commit to work in-person in the Portland campus. Undergraduate Honors Thesis
Undergraduate students who have worked in the SEED Lab for at least one academic year and have demonstrated excellent performance as an undergraduate RA are welcome to complete an undergraduate honors thesis with Dr. Cho. Students interested in this opportunity should discuss this option with Dr. Cho in advance to discuss expectations and potential options. Honors thesis mentorship is not guaranteed to undergraduate RAs.
