김현우 교수는 현재 서울시립대학교 도시공학과 부교수로 재직 중이며, 미국 Texas A&M University 대학에서 Urban and Regional Sciences 로 박사학위를 취득하였다. 주요 연구분야는 환경계획, 그린인프라 및 공원계획, 도시재생, 스마트 도시계획 등 공간분석 중심의 도시계획 및 정책평가이다.
Dr. Kim is an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Urban Planning & Design at University of Seoul, South Korea. He received his Ph.D. degree in Urban & Regional Sciences at Texas A&M University. His research interests are in environmental planning, green infrastructure, park management, urban regeneration, and smart city planning.

INTRODUCTION TO URBAN PLANNING (도시계획론)
The primary goal of this class is to understand the basic background of planning and introduce various aspects of urban planning, including housing, environment, transportation, participation, design, and technology, in order to improve the welfare of communities by providing and adopting more equitable, efficient, and sustainable approaches.
URBAN RESEARCH ANALYSIS METHODS (도시조사분석방법론)
An introductory level course in the empirical analysis. Students will learn the comprehensive social research methods and practices focusing on quantitative approaches.
URBAN ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING (도시환경계획)
Discuss diverse environmental issues that occur in contemporary urban areas. The past / current urban plans and policies with regard to water resources management, air quality, green space, ecosystem, noise, energy, as well as artificial/natural hazards will be examined.
URBAN ADMIN. CAPSTONE DESIGN (도시행정캡스톤디자인)
This course is designed to discuss inter-disciplinary knowledge regarding urban planning/policy by learning diverse urban issues and applying various skills in practice.
URBAN PLANNING THEORY & HISTORY (도시계획이론과역사)
This course aims to introduce students to contemporary issues of urbanization, past influences and current practice of urban planning.
URBAN ENVIRONMENTAL BIG DATA ANALYSIS (도시환경빅데이터분석)
This course is a practical course that deals with R, GIS, and text mining skills. Various urban environmental issues will be discussed by using spatial and statistical tools.
RISE (라이즈)
This course aims to let students learn the specific field of research that they are interested in and understand the process of writing an undergraduate thesis. Students will meet with the professor regularly every week and report the procedure of research.
GIS PRACTICES (GIS연습)
GIS Practices aims to understand the basic foundations of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and actively employ the ArcGIS and QGIS tools to apply in real-world practices.
URBAN STATISTICAL ANALYSIS (도시통계분석)
Students will learn about the fundamental statistical analysis tools and techniques while assessing urban spatial problems. STATA and R will be mainly used for the analysis and basic statistical concepts will be dealt during the class.
URBAN ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ANALYSIS (도시환경정책분석)
Various urban natural and social environmental issues will be taught while achieving sustainable community planning and development. Street environments, landscapes, as well as green infrastructure strategies will be dealt to understand contemporary urban problems.
