Cosmology in UoS

Our research interests span from galaxies to large-scale structures. To study large-scale structures, we focus on clusters and cluster finding algorithms while developing our own (Mulguisin), and also use DisPerSE to extract the filamentary structures to see the galaxies co-evolving with the structures. This understanding of large-scale structures can be applied to estimating the cosmological parameters, by the method of higher-order statistics beyond two-point correlation functions and deep learning. On galaxy scales, we are interested in AGN turn-on mechanisms and SN feedback on satellite galaxies.

Also, we study the galactic-scale dynamics of UltraLight Dark Matter (ULDM) halos using the code PyUltraLight, and compare with the same configuration based on Cold Dark Matter (CDM) using the code GADGET4.
