About the UofSC AAUP Chapter

The University of South Carolina chapter of the American Association of University Professors was created on August 16, 2019. A chapter had been in place previously but because of inactivity was no longer recognized by the national office. There is evidence that there was a chapter as early as 1930 (the AAUP was founded in 1915).

Chapter meetings are open to all faculty (tenure-track, non-tenure track, full-time, part-time), but only members may vote on matters requiring formal action.
