I am a nerd who loves physics, video games, reading, and writing.
I love learning about how the universe we live in works on all scales, from the smallest of the small to the largest and unfathomable. I actually had a fling with quantum mechanics where I used to teach myself some of those complicated concepts (for fun!). It's because of this love for physics that I love science and math in school and that my dream job is to be a physicist.
When I'm not learning about our world, I like to delve into the worlds of the video games. I respect those that can create physical representations of entirely made up worlds that others can interact with since I cannot do that myself. I like exploring vast worlds, taking on the personality of someone else, learning independence and teamwork, honing my reflexes, and sharpening my mind—I like to play within these virtual worlds; I am no artist or programmer that can create them.
Another way I am able to dive into fictional worlds is through the wonders that are books. Telling stories and using words to allow others to experience a completely different world. I love to get absorbed into a good book and lose track of time, simply from enjoying these stories and worlds authors have created for others. I think that is just as an amazing skill as visually creating or programming a virtual world. It is this method of transportation that I seem more attracted to—I enjoy playing around with the limitless possibilities of words.
Writing is how I am able to communicate with others. It allows me to discuss different ideas, address different problems, imagine different worlds—and if I can get someone else to enjoy reading my writing as much as I enjoyed writing it, that's an added bonus.
I think it is fascinating that everyone—writer or not, beginner or expert, young or old—has their own writing style; a way of writing that is unique to them. I love how amazingly complex language can be for that to even be possible.
What's my style? Well, I love to twist or play around with stereotypes, misconceptions, or interesting aspects of the world that are considered "normal" or "standard". I enjoy helping people see different perspectives of this world of ours.
I also like writing in a way where a reader cannot understand or comprehend all of the various layers of meaning by reading it once or twice—I want people to really think and ponder in order to gain insight into any given subject matter.
