The USA–NASA Educational Trip was organized by Mr. Kayamboo Ramalingam, CEO of Go4Guru, between 8th May 2025 and 18th May 2025. It was a 7-night, 8-day educational tour. A total of 18 students and 1 teacher-coordinator from BALA VIDYA MANDIR participated in the trip.
Day-wise Report
Day 1: 8th May 2025 – Departure
The group departed from Chennai International Airport via Emirates Airlines.
Day 2: 9th May 2025 – Arrival - Orlando
Arrival at Orlando International Airport at 10:30 a.m. (EST).
Checked in at Holiday Inn, Kissimmee by 1:30 p.m.
Rest and recovery from jet lag post lunch.
Day 3: 10th May 2025 – Visit to NASA Kennedy Space Center
Departed at 8:00 a.m. for NASA – Kennedy Space Center.
Visited the AV Room where a NASA scientist briefed us on the Artemis Crew and upcoming space missions.
Astronaut Mr. Ken Cameron addressed the students on teamwork and perseverance in space missions.
Bhoomshika (Class 10) was among the three students who got the opportunity to interact with the astronaut.
Viewed a 3D animation of the Atlantis Shuttle launch and saw the actual shuttle on display.
All students received certificates and took photographs with the astronaut.
Purchased souvenirs at the NASA Gift Shop.
Day 4: 11th May 2025 – Second Day at NASA
Guided bus tour of the NASA facility showcasing departments and technologies.
Experienced space shuttle launch simulation – an unforgettable experience.
Day 5: 12th May 2025 – Universal Studios, Orlando
Despite the rain, students enjoyed various rides and the Hollywood Mega Movie Parade.
Returned to the hotel by 7:00 p.m.
Day 6: 13th May 2025 – Disney World Water Park
Students enjoyed all the water rides and the wave pool.
Returned to the hotel by 7:00 p.m.
Day 7: 14th May 2025 – University Visit & Shopping
Visited the University of Central Florida. A student representative explained admission criteria for U.S. universities.
Post lunch, visited Walmart and Orlando International Premium Outlets for shopping.
Day 8: 15th May 2025 – Travel to New York
Flew to New York via United Airlines, arrived at 3:00 p.m.
Visited Times Square and experienced the vibrant nightlife.
Roshaan (Class 9) celebrated his birthday by cutting a cake at Times Square.
Checked in at Baymont by Wyndham, New Jersey.
Day 9: 16th May 2025 – Statue of Liberty & Departure
Visited the Statue of Liberty by ferry – a memorable experience.
Departed for JFK International Airport, New York, in the evening.
Arrived safely at Chennai International Airport at 2:30 a.m. on 18th May 2025 with cherished memories.
Learning Outcomes of the USA–NASA Educational Trip
Inspiration through Real-life Interactions:
Meeting and interacting with astronaut Mr. Ken Cameron provided students with firsthand motivation and deeper insight into the field of space science.
