UNSW Corporate Finance Workshop

This event is organized and partly sponsored by the School of Banking and Finance at UNSW.

We invite submissions of papers in all areas of Finance, with a special focus on Corporate Finance, including banking, household and entrepreneurial finance. Theoretical and empirical papers are welcome. The workshop will feature approximately 10–12 papers and discussants over two days. All sessions will be plenary and held in the morning and early afternoon, leaving time for interactions and social activities. The number of participants is limited to ensure an informal atmosphere conducive to open and lively discussions.

LOCATION: The workshop will take place at Coogee Beach, located in Sydney's beautiful Eastern Suburbs, renowned for its ocean activities, bars and restaurants. The workshop will be held at the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club, perched directly on the rocky shoreline above the southern end of the beach.

SUBMISSIONS: Please e-mail your paper to unswcorpfinworkshop@gmail.com. All submissions should be PDF files and need not be blinded. There is no submission fee. In case your paper does not make it into the program, please indicate whether you would be willing to attend as a discussant.

The closing date and time for submissions is 11:59 pm, February 15, 2027, US Eastern Time. Authors will be notified of the status of their paper by the end  of March, 2027.

OTHER INFORMATION: A conference fee will be charged to cover expenses relating to conference facilities and social activities, including the conference dinner and harbour cruise. The fee is expected to be approximately USD 250. Travel and accommodation expenses are not covered, but hotel rooms will be pre-booked at a discounted rate. The closest airport is Sydney International Airport, approximately 20 minutes by taxi from the conference venue, depending on traffic.

A SPECIAL HIGHLIGHT FOR 2027: VIVID SYDNEY

We are delighted that this year's workshop will coincide with Vivid Sydney, Sydney's internationally renowned festival of light, music and creativity. During the festival, Sydney's spectacular harbour comes alive with dazzling light installations and projections illuminating iconic landmarks, including the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

To make the most of this special occasion, we will be hosting an evening cruise on Sydney Harbour, giving participants the opportunity to experience the spectacular Vivid light displays from the water while enjoying the company of fellow researchers. We look forward to sharing this memorable Sydney experience with our participants!
