May 18, 1984
Several students attending a Hispanic leadership retreat noted a need for Latino organizations at The Ohio State University. An exploratory group, led by Dr. Josue Cruz, Assistant Vice Provost to the Office of Minority Affairs, was formed to research possible fraternities and sororities. After reviewing their findings, the group decided to start a new Latino Greek organization.

February 11, 1985
Alpha Psi Lambda was established at The Ohio State University.

March 10, 1985
Thirteen individuals were officially initiated as the founders of Alpha Psi Lambda.

Alpha Psi Lambda was officially recognized as a National organization. 

Thee Unstoppable Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Psi Lambda was founded in the summer of 2006 by 5 noble men and women. The dream first started when Alvaro Fay, a member of the GREAT gamma chapter of Alpha Psi Lambda, transferred to Florida Atlantic University from Northern Illinois University. After transferring, he quickly got involved on campus and joined the Association of Latin American Students club. It was from that organization that he met the 5 individuals who would one day become the founders of the Unstoppable Upsilon chapter at Florida Atlantic University. All five students wanted to make an impact at FAU and get more involved on campus. After extensive research, the decision was made by the end of Fall 2005 at a Chili's restaurant in Boca Raton to bring Alpha Psi Lambda to Florida Atlantic University. Gamma Chapter sponsored us and led our 5 founders to Nobility. During Spring 2006, these 5 individuals embarked on a journey together. Through their diligent work, dedication, and perseverance, they conquered what some couldn’t: the right to represent Alpha Psi Lambda as the founders at Florida Atlantic University. After they reached the middle of summer, all their hard work paid off, and the founding line known as “Los Deseados” was born! Since then, our Unstoppable Upsilon chapter has made a positive impact at Florida Atlantic University, and every year, it grows stronger as we seek out students to join our Familia!
