Job Title: Accounting Intern
Description:
We are looking to partner with students majoring in accounting and business administration who will be faced with “experience needed” or “experience required” when applying for jobs after graduation. As a small business owner, I have faced those same disappointing setbacks upon completing college. So, I am offering students the opportunity to get the experience they will need by providing 16 hrs. per week to volunteer in my administration office to help us with preparing for the upcoming tax season, we are using QuickBooks.
A letter of recommendation and job reference for future employment needs will be provided to all that completes a minimum of 8hr or more (hours can be flexible to student’s availability).

Job Description:
Collecting, tracking, and correcting the company's finances.
Overseeing the management and reporting of financial data of the organization.
Preparing financial statements and tax forms.
Preparing financial statements such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows.
Preparing budgets and analyzing financial data related to budgets for accuracy and usefulness.
Qualifications:
Reading financial statements: You need to be able to understand and interpret the financial health and performance of a business based on its balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and other documents.
Using accounting software: You need to be proficient in using various accounting software programs that help you automate, process, and analyze financial data. Some of the common software programs include Excel and QuickBooks.
Preparing and reporting on financial statements: You need to be able to create and present accurate and clear financial reports that communicate complex information to different stakeholders, such as managers, investors, regulators, and clients.
Attention to detail: You need to be meticulous and precise in your work, as any errors or discrepancies can have serious consequences for the business and its reputation.
Time management: You need to be able to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within deadlines, especially during busy periods such as tax season or year-end closing.
Organization: You need to be able to keep track of and manage large amounts of financial data, documents, and records in an orderly and efficient manner.
Communication: You need to be able to communicate effectively with different audiences, both verbally and in writing. You also need to be able to listen actively and ask relevant questions to understand the needs and expectations of your clients and colleagues.
