Hi, I’m Jayeesh and I’ve graduated from college, but I used to be involved in the DDN circuit and was also a part of the Origins Circuit as a Hospitality chair, loved being able to create cool merch! I actually started Unleash (previously known as UnleashDDN), since I recognized within my own experience that within the circuit, dance can end up becoming something negative and wanted to reduce instances of that happening since dance should be something that brings joy to people. Along the way I met some other amazing people (Nitish and Radhika) who helped significantly within Unleash 1.0. Excited to start 2.0 with a new crew. Within the last year, I’ve loved being able to meet people who recognized the channel and always means a lot when I hear that it’s been something they appreciate, so please come say hi. My favorite dance memory is prod setup in the mornings at 7 am when I slept probably at 2-3am the day of. Doesn’t make sense right? But, it was the prod crew, who all rallied at dawn, put our heart into making sure our prod was in tiptop shape, and blasting “Happy”(the Telugu song specifically) which made the experience special. Outside of dance and working on Unleash, I have a younger brother whose name is Teddy(he’s a dog) who I go on long walks with, I love going on side quests with friends(sometimes ends up just being a grocery run), and figuring out how I can make the world a better place.
Content Crew create the amazing shorts that are featured on our Tiktok and Instagram page. They spend hours refining these shorts, making sure each sentence, each second, each point is there for a reason. They aim to create a final narrative that influences the way people tell their own stories on their teams, on or off the stage, or as an individual.
Hi, I’m Parth! I’m a junior at Indiana University studying Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience on the pre-med track. I am the captain of IU’s Bollywood fusion team, IU Inayat. I joined Unleash to make a broader impact on the circuit beyond just my own team, to help foster a more supportive and inclusive environment for all dancers. My favorite dance memory was attending a fall competition as a first-year team last year; it was an amazing experience. Outside of dance, I play tennis, cricket, and I LOVE FOOD, I eat when I'm bored, not hungry.
Hey, I’m Likitha! I am a senior at Texas A&M, majoring in Electronic Systems in Engineering Technology and I’m from Katy, Texas. I joined Unleash because I wanted to make the dance space a fun and positive environment and help people not lose their passion for dance. My favorite dance memory was being a part of Iktara 1.0 and seeing it come together as a first-year dance competition and meeting all the teams. Outside of dance, I love spending time with friends and am down to do pretty much anything. I also love doing henna and trying new food!
Hi my name is Saanvi! I’m a junior at the University of Wisconsin - Madison studying Biology and Data Science and I’m from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. I joined Unleash to empower South Asian dancers with the tools and inspiration to deepen their love for dance and elevate their artistry. My favorite dance memories has to be doing our team chant at the end of a long practice and late night yap sessions at comps. Blog Crew uses writing as their main form of medium to bring to light new ideas within the circuit or explain topics within intricate detail. They either will be working on their own thought pieces or will be collaborating with the community members to create fully fleshed out narratives that may be difficult to describe in a conversation or podcast. Through writing, they make stories out of the ideas that deserve to be told by digging a bit deeper or create a treasure trove of information about a particular topic.
Helloo, my name is Rihi, and I’m currently a medical student. I graduated from Rutgers University- New Brunswick (RU rah rah!) with my Bachelor’s in Neuroscience and Master’s in Public Health. During college, I was on an all-girls competitive Bhangra team, and afterwards, founded Bollywood Grooves, a recreational dance program aimed at building skill and confidence in Bollywood and Fusion dance styles. I’ve also been involved in the DDN circuit as a judge and in the NDDL circuit as a board member. I joined Unleash to bring the alumni voice to this platform, and to have meaningful conversations and meet new people. I love storytelling in any capacity, and can’t wait to help unleash the voices in our community!
Hi, I’m Farah! I’m a senior at the University of Maryland studying Public Policy and I’m from Aurora, Illinois. This will be my third year on Maryland Dhoom, and my second year as team manager. I joined Unleash because I wanted to create a positive space for collaboration and help dancers cultivate their passion, not lose it in college. My favorite dance memories are exploring LA and Texas A&M with my team, and spending time together during competition weekends. Outside of dancing, I love trying new restaurants, hammocking around campus, and going to concerts.
Design/Outreach influences how warm/approachable our channel feels, how our ideas are packaged into a finished product, and continuously improve how we can better represent the channel through better story telling. They are also responsible for facilitating community within Unleash, by making sure that we're going above and beyond when creating for the community, but also creating space for our community to create and be a part of Unleash.
Hi! My name is Kylah and I’m a senior at Johns Hopkins University studying International Studies and History on a Pre-Law track. Dance has been a big part of my life since I was a little girl; from hip-hop, ballet, contemporary, jazz, and tap, I was trained in various western dance styles. In college I joined my school’s bollywood fusion dance team, JHU Zinda, where I was captain for a year, and danced on GW Raas for a semester. My favorite dance memory is getting to see my team's excitement each time we achieved a new milestone. I’m now part of Unleash to stay involved in the collegiate dance circuits I know and love, and create a more positive and supportive space that dancers can share. Outside of dance I like to play guitar and read!
