The goal of this seminar is to study mapping class groups, which are fundamental in geometry, topology, and group theory. The book we'll be following is "A Primer on Mapping Class Groups" by Benson Farb and Dan Margalit. Each week, everyone will read a bit about the material, but one or two people will be in charge of leading the discussion.
