WHO WE ARE
KNUST HOSPITAL
The KNUST Hospital (University Health Services) was established to care for the health needs of staff, their families, and students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Over the years, it has grown beyond the university to serve the wider public and now operates as a District Hospital, delivering both general and specialist medical services to thousands of people in surrounding communities.
In 2007, a dedicated Students’ Clinic was opened near Chancellor Hall to make healthcare more accessible to students and reduce congestion at the main hospital. With facilities such as a pharmacy, laboratory, treatment rooms, and a nurses’ station, the clinic ensures students receive timely and quality care right at the heart of campus.
Our Journey
What began in 1952 as a small dressing station has evolved into a modern, full-service hospital with a 125-bed capacity, catering to over 200,000 people across more than 30 neighboring communities including Ayigya, Bomso, Ayeduase, Kotei, and Boadi.
