Alex's Story

In the year 2000, at just four years old, a girl named Alexandra Scott was told that she had an aggressive form of cancer known as neuroblastoma. While this news could easily cause the average adult to shut down and accept their fate, Alex decided instead to stand her ground for the sake of herself and children nationwide with similar hardships. Equipped with the highest of hopes, she held a lemonade stand to fundraise for pediatric cancer research that year. She continued to carry out the tradition annually and inspired people from all over the country to hold lemonade stands of their own to contribute to the cause. On August 1, 2004, Alex passed away at age 8, after raising over 1 million dollars for pediatric cancer research. For over a decade, her family and supporters have continued her legacy in the form of the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Thus far, they have raised over 127 million dollars for the cause.
