Due to the South African University application process opening after our Scholarship application deadline of 19 February 2024, we will accept scholarship applications for South African Universities for the year 2025/2026 without a confirmed offer.

You may apply as soon as you have a confirmed university offer. If you have not had an offer before our deadline date of 19 February 2024, it is better to wait for confirmation before submitting. Applications will remain open until close of business on this date and no preference is given to earlier applications.

All applications to UK universities are made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), which operates on a pre-qualification basis where offers are made in advance of applicants achieving their final grades. Offer holders are then confirmed or rejected once the results for the relevant qualifications are received.

Our call for application is published below. We advise that you read through the instructions and the criteria carefully and start preparing your application. The application portal will be open between the 12 and 28 February 2024.

We aim at having all genders represented as equally as possible in the final list of scholarship recipients. We also want to include as many of the eligible countries, provided there is a sufficient number of quality applications. We also need to stay within our budget. We may make additional adjustments in the final selection to achieve the distribution we are aiming for. However, we do not have any quotas for specific countries, fields of study, Swedish universities etcetera.

In 2024, we aim to grant around 300 scholarships. The SI scholarship is highly competitive and the number of recipients from different countries, and to certain programmes/universities may differ from year to year, depending on the quality of the applications received.

Announcement of SI scholarship recipients

In the afternoon of 25 April 2024, the successful SI scholarship recipients of Global Professionals 2024 are announced on si.se. Due to a large number of applications, only those who are offered a scholarship will be notified.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship selection process is a merit-based open competition. After the deadline, independent readers will review all eligible applications. Following this review, chosen semi-finalists will be interviewed by the U.S. embassies or consulates in their home countries. Selected semi-finalists will be required to participate in these in-person interviews in their home country within Africa. If advanced to the semi-finalist round, applicants must provide a copy of their international passport (if available) or other government-issued photo identification at the time of the interview. Selected Finalists are required to attend the mandatory Pre-Fellowship Orientation in their home country within Africa.

Applications are now open for the University of Edinburgh 2024 Student Cohort. Prior to applying, students should be aware that being part of Volunteer Zambia is a big commitment. It is hard work, time-consuming, and requires a full 12 months of commitment to the project. However, taking part in the project is massively rewarding and you will experience a huge amount of personal and professional growth.

Prospective students who are seeking to earn degrees or certificates (i.e., academic credentials), who have applied for admission to the university but whose applications have not been processed, may enroll in courses through open enrollment status. In addition, students who desire to enroll in courses for personal enrichment but are not seeking to earn academic credentials may request to do so through open enrollment status. Permission to register for individual courses is based on prior academic performance and preparation in appropriate prerequisites.

NOTE: FSU is waiving the GRE as a requirement for admission to certain master's and specialist degree programs for 2024-2025. The GRE waiver will automatically apply to all J.M. applications for these terms.

This Bachelor's degree scholarship will be awarded for students beginning their studies in the Fall 2024 semester or after and is worth up to $5,000. It's open to students from any country who will be studying a Bachelor's degree abroad at a college or university in the USA.

Invitations to participate in the program will be sent in April, 2024 and applicants that are not selected to participate will also be notified.
