1. Introduction

Welcome to TCL TV Remote - Smart Control ("App", "we", "our", or "us"), developed by Veevan Studioz. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling user information transparently and securely. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App may access, process, collect, store, use, or share, why it is needed, and the choices available to users.

TCL TV Remote - Smart Control is an independent and unofficial remote-control application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially associated with TCL Technology Group Corporation or any other television manufacturer or platform provider. TCL and other trademarks, logos, product names, and brand names are the property of their respective owners and are referenced only for compatibility and identification purposes.

2. How the App Works

The App is designed to discover, pair with, connect to, and control compatible smart televisions and streaming devices. Depending on the television model, operating system, network, device permissions, and manufacturer support, features may include remote navigation, power controls, volume and channel controls, media controls, touchpad navigation, keyboard/text input, voice input, app shortcuts, saved TV profiles, automatic reconnection, and Premium features.

For many network-based features, the Android device and television must be connected to the same local network. Compatibility and feature availability vary by device.

3. Information and Device Data Used for TV Control

To provide TV discovery, pairing, connection, reconnection, and remote-control functionality, the App may access or process technical information such as:

· Local network information used to discover and communicate with compatible televisions;

· TV or device IP address and network connection information;

· TV/device identifiers and compatibility information made available by the television or local network;

· Pairing information, connection tokens, certificates, keys, or other credentials required by a supported TV platform to maintain an authorized connection;

· Saved TV name, TV profile, connection status, selected platform, and related App preferences;

· Device or connection information needed for supported wake, reconnect, discovery, or remote-control functions.

Where appropriate, TV connection information and App preferences are stored locally on the user's Android device. Sensitive pairing credentials stored by the App may be protected using Android security mechanisms. The App does not intentionally access personal photos, contacts, SMS messages, call history, or user documents merely to provide TV remote functionality.

4. Account and Authentication Data

The App provides optional account functionality for Premium access. When a user creates or signs in to an account using email and password, authentication is provided through Google Firebase Authentication. Information processed for this purpose may include the user's email address, Firebase user identifier (UID), authentication credentials, IP address, user-agent/device information, and security-related information used by Firebase to authenticate users, prevent abuse, and manage accounts.

Veevan Studioz does not receive or store a user's readable Firebase password in the App's own database. Password handling and authentication are performed through Firebase Authentication.

5. Premium and Founder Account Information

For signed-in users, the App may use Google Cloud Firestore to read or maintain account entitlement information necessary to determine Premium access. This may include the Firebase UID, email address, Premium status, Premium type, Founder eligibility or Founder number where applicable, and account-related timestamps or status information.

This information is used to provide and restore eligible Premium features and to prevent unauthorized access to Premium functionality.

6. Firebase Analytics and Usage Information

The App includes Firebase Analytics. Analytics may process app-instance identifiers and technical or usage information about how the App is used, such as App interactions, device/app information, and diagnostic or engagement-related events generated by the analytics service. We use analytics information to understand App performance and usage, improve features, identify problems, and improve the user experience.

We do not intentionally use an email address as a Google Analytics user ID. Information processed by Firebase services is also subject to Google's applicable Firebase terms, security measures, and privacy practices.

7. Microphone and Voice Features

If the user chooses to use voice functionality, the App may request microphone access or invoke voice/speech services available on the Android device. Microphone access is used only when required for the voice feature and subject to the permissions granted by the user.

Voice or speech processing may be performed by the Android operating system, Google speech services, the television platform, or another service available on the user's device. Those providers may process voice or recognized text according to their own privacy policies.

8. Network, Nearby Device, and Other Permissions

The App may request or use Android permissions and system capabilities required for its features, including Internet/network access, local network communication, microphone access for voice features, and nearby-device or Bluetooth-related access where a supported discovery or connection feature requires it. Permission availability and behavior depend on the Android version and device.

Users can manage applicable permissions through Android settings. Denying or disabling a required permission may prevent the related feature from working.

9. Local Storage and Saved Preferences

The App may store settings and operational information locally on the Android device, including selected language, selected theme, saved TV information, TV profiles, favorite apps, Premium tool preferences, remote layout preferences, connection information, and other configuration choices.

Local information may remain on the device until it is removed through App functionality, the App's storage/data is cleared, or the App is uninstalled, depending on the feature.

10. Advertising

At the date of this Privacy Policy, the current App release does not include an advertising SDK or display third-party advertisements. If advertising is introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy, applicable consent mechanisms, and Google Play Data Safety disclosures will be updated as required before or when the relevant functionality is introduced.

11. Purchases and Payment Information

The App may offer or prepare optional Premium features, subscriptions, or one-time purchases. If paid digital features are offered through Google Play, payment transactions will be handled through Google Play Billing as required by applicable Google Play policies.

We do not directly receive or store complete credit/debit card details processed by Google Play. We may receive limited purchase or entitlement information necessary to verify Premium access, restore eligible purchases, prevent fraud, or provide support.

12. Third-Party Services

The App currently uses or may interact with third-party services necessary for its functionality, including:

· Google Firebase Authentication for account sign-in and account management;

· Google Cloud Firestore for Premium/account entitlement information;

· Firebase Analytics for app analytics and usage measurement;

· Google/Android system services for applicable device, speech, network, and platform functionality;

· Television manufacturers, television operating systems, streaming-device platforms, or local-network services with which the user chooses to connect.

These service providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy practices. We do not sell users' personal information.

13. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers such as Google/Firebase when necessary to provide authentication, account functionality, analytics, security, fraud prevention, or other App functionality. Technical TV-control data may also be transmitted over the user's local network to the television or device the user chooses to control.

We may disclose information if required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or where reasonably necessary to protect users, the App, our rights, security, or prevent fraud or abuse.

14. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information handled by the App. Where supported, sensitive locally stored connection credentials are protected using Android security mechanisms, and Firebase access is controlled through authentication and database security rules.

No electronic transmission, local network, cloud service, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should keep their Android device and television software updated and use trusted networks where possible.

15. Data Retention

Local App information may remain on the user's device until removed through App functionality, App data is cleared, or the App is uninstalled. Account and Premium entitlement information stored through Firebase may be retained while the account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, or comply with applicable legal obligations.

Where information must be retained for a legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, or regulatory reason after an account deletion request, it will be retained only to the extent and for the period reasonably necessary for that purpose.

16. Account and Data Deletion

Users who create an account may request deletion of their App account and associated account data. The App will provide a readily discoverable account-deletion path within the account or Premium account area. Users may also request deletion outside the App through Veevan Studioz's web-based account-deletion resource once published for Google Play, or by contacting us at veevanstudioz@gmail.com.

When an eligible account deletion request is completed, the Firebase Authentication account and associated account data controlled by Veevan Studioz, including applicable Firestore Premium/account records, will be deleted unless specific information must be retained for legitimate security, fraud-prevention, legal, or regulatory reasons. Uninstalling the App by itself does not necessarily delete a Firebase account.

The external account-deletion web resource will identify TCL TV Remote - Smart Control / Veevan Studioz and provide a clear method to initiate a deletion request. The applicable URL will also be supplied in Google Play Console's Data Safety section.

17. Children's Privacy

The App is a general utility for controlling compatible televisions and is not specifically designed or directed toward children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through the core TV remote functionality. If we become aware that information has been collected in a manner that requires deletion under applicable law, we will take appropriate steps.

18. International Processing

Third-party cloud services used by the App, including Firebase, may process or store information in countries other than the user's country. Such processing is subject to the service provider's applicable data-processing and security terms and applicable law.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when App functionality, permissions, account features, third-party services, monetization, legal requirements, or data-handling practices change. The revised policy will show an updated 'Last Updated' date. Users should review the current version periodically.
