Universal Fire Soundsystem STORY

We are the Universal Fire Soundsystem from cologne/duesseldorf. Founded in 1997 by Selecta Ogee and Mcee Brigadeer Vaka.

Mcee Brigadeer Vaka got his first experience with original reggae music while he stayed 1988 in Jamaica, after Hurricane Gilbert mashed up great parts of the island. 1989 he vistited the first time "The Reggae Sunsplash" at Bob Marley Memorial Center in Montego Bay and from these days on he was really infected. Thru his charming voice, his spontaneous talking and juggeling with the people in the audience, he really set every place "Under Fire"! From 1995-1996 he played reggae music in the "Cafe Tuba" in Cologne, the most frequented place for African people and between 1997-1998 together with Selecta Ogee as the Universal Fire Soundsystem.

Today Vaka..s Sista lives inna Jamdong, so that always the freshes tunes were sended to Germoney, inna kind of Family Business.

Selecta Ogee was infected of the reggae-virus in 1994 while he stayed a good time inna Jamaica. From these days on he was really inna the business. He started to select the first time in 1997 and since today he perfected it. On his way it was very helpful that he started to play instruments by the age of five. He really has the right feeling for reggae music and that you can hear on the live shows of the Universal Fire Soundsystem.

From 2000-2002 Selecta Ogee played guitar at the Band "Monster Riddim". For the future we plan to compose our own riddims and remixes. From 2000 until 2002 we played at the "Tronic Club" in Cologne. 2003 - 2004 we had several Mashup Dances at "Getaway", "AK74", "Ghetto Bar" and last but not least the wonderful "Outside Movements" at the river Rhine. 2005 was the year with regular dates at the "Moon Light Club".

We play all over the country, where always 100% satisfaction is guaranteed. Big shows we had together with Mikal Rose (Black Uhuru), Luitenant Stitchie and Capleton at the "Kantine" Cologne, in Wuppertal at the "U-Club" together with the Monster Riddim Crew, in Duesseldorf with Ishen Impossible and Lava Crew, inna Dresden together with Concrete Jungle and many many more ...

At live shows sometimes Universal Fire play with different Singers and Deejays. Together with Nikitaman and his powerfull performance we already mash dong plenty places. In Trier we had a nice performance also with Natty Flo and Nosliv.
