Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 7, 2026
Universal Remote TV Control (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our app collects, uses, and protects information when you use Universal Remote TV Control.
Information We Collect
Universal Remote TV Control may collect or access the following types of information depending on the features you use:
Device and App Information
We may collect basic technical information such as device type, Android version, app version, crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data to improve app stability and user experience.
Network Information
The app may access Wi-Fi or network information to discover and connect to compatible smart TVs or casting devices on the same local network.
Photos and Videos
If you use the media casting feature, the app may request access to photos and videos on your device. This access is used only to let you select and cast local media files to a compatible TV. We do not upload, sell, or share your photos or videos.
Screen Content
If you use the screen mirroring feature, the app may request screen capture permission through Android’s Media Projection API. Screen mirroring starts only after your permission is granted. The app uses this access only to mirror your screen to a compatible TV or display device.
IR Remote Access
If your Android device supports an IR blaster, the app may use it to send remote-control signals to supported TVs. This feature does not collect personal data.
Advertising Data
The app may show ads through third-party advertising partners. These partners may collect device identifiers, ad interaction data, approximate location, and other information to provide, measure, and improve ads, depending on your device settings and consent choices.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
• Provide TV remote control features
• Discover and connect to compatible TVs and casting devices
• Enable photo, video, and screen casting features
• Improve app performance, stability, and user experience
• Fix bugs and analyze crashes
• Show and measure ads, if ads are included in the app
• Comply with legal and platform requirements
Permissions We Use
Universal Remote TV Control may request the following permissions:
Local Network / Wi-Fi Access
Used to find and connect to compatible smart TVs and streaming devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
Photos and Videos Access
Used only when you choose to cast local photos or videos from your device to a compatible TV.
Screen Capture / Media Projection
Used only when you start screen mirroring. Android will show a system permission prompt before screen capture begins, and an ongoing notification may appear while mirroring is active.
Foreground Service Permission
Used to keep screen mirroring or media projection active while the feature is running and visible to the user.
Internet Access
Used for app features, ads, analytics, crash reporting, and service improvements.
IR Blaster Access
Used only on supported Android devices to send IR remote-control commands.
Notifications
Used to show important service status, such as an active screen mirroring session, where required by Android.
