Unity4Kids is a 501c3 nonprofit charity that is designed to help children and families in crisis. Our organization grew from the employees of Spencer Home Center and the community outreach efforts Spencer's has been involved in. Spencer Home Center is lead by Eric Spencer who is a compassionate business owner who has helped so many people and organizations over the years.
Unity4Kids helps families by supporting CarePortal and other requests that we receive. We help provide food, rent, electricity, clothing, baby items, shoes, skin care and hygiene, homelessness, fuel, cancer comfort bags, furniture, etc.
We also work with area organizations to provide Christmas presents and Easter Baskets for vulnerable children and families in the community.
We continue to grow our ministry and have included Comfort Bags for kids that are going through hardship, are placed in foster care, or are placed in child protective services. A lot of times when a child is removed from the home their belongs are thrown in a trash bag. Our bags offer items that will divert the child's attention away from the crisis while offering a warm fuzzy blanket, stuffed pillow, hygiene items, change of clothes, etc.
We ask that you join us in praying for each of our ministries to help vulnerable children and families that we make a positive impact in the lives of those that we serve and to lift them up during a dark time.
Our mission is to help children and families in crisis. We make a positive impact by offering hope, sharing love and letting families know that they are not alone. We love those that we help unconditionally regardless of what their situation is. We love them through it all! It is our desire to instill faith, God's love and belief in humanity to each and every child and family we help.
In a world that is divided, we bring people together by uniting them to help meet the needs of children and families. We are Unity 4 Kids! We partner with friends, family, businesses and churches to unite together to help those in need in our communities.
Children are a gift and it is our responsibility to guide them to a better path in life.
Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way that he should go; when he is old he will not depart from it."

Rob Rothenberger
I am 47 years old and retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. I am married to my wife Edie Rothenberger and have an 18-year-old stepson. I am an active member at Calvary Brethren Church in Buena Vista, VA. Our church strongly believes in supporting our local community through programs such as the Care Portal and our clothes closet. I graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor's in Biblical and Theological studies. I am pursuing a graduate degree in Theology to better serve God and His children in the capacity He sees fit. I enjoy running and collecting sports cards, but more importantly, I cherish the time I spend with my nieces and nephews, whose ages range from 4 to 15 years old. Matthew 19:14 (English Standard Version) states, “But Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’” All children are God’s children, and I want nothing more than to facilitate and nurture each child’s potential and spiritual growth in becoming champions for Christ.

Edie is the wife of Rob, and the mother to Eli. She is retired from Walmart and is a member of Calvary Brethren Church. She grew up in the Rockbridge area and has 4 brothers and sisters. Edie has been a key participant in local charity events and for disaster relief in North Carolina.
