Resources

For classroom educators

You can learn more about fractions by watching all of the Paying Attention to Fractions Adobe Presenter.

There are additional resources for Paying Attention to Fractions, including tasks, located along with the document here.

The Fractions Learning Pathways have a number of tasks and more are coming soon.

For mathematics professional learning leaders

You can access the Professional Learning Modules for ready-to-use materials, including a Presenter Guide, scripted PowerPoint and all support documents. Topics include

  • Ways We Use Fractions
  • Unit Fractions
  • Comparing Fractions

as well as classroom dynamics, algebraic reasoning, spatial reasoning, and proportional reasoning.

We intend to add more modules for fractions this year.

If you want to check your thinking against ours for the multiple meanings of fractions task, look at this document. This task is usually completed as a card sort in a face-to-face format but for the on-line session we selected a sub-set of the entire deck of cards. [This is a part of the Professional Learning Module referenced above.]
