Second Declaration of Micronational Rights

History

The SDMR is the UMU's version of the Micronational Declaration of Human Rights  (MDHR), which was adopted after it was written by one of the government persons. Due to dispute, the UMU decided to rewrite the MDHR in August 2026 to fit new guidelines. It outlines the basic rights of micronations and the citizens of micronations.

Chapter 1: General Rights of the People

Article 1: All human lives are treated with equal value

Article 2: These rights are automatically assumed to all citizens of a signed micronation, independent of identity and characteristics

Article 3: These rights cannot be removed or suspended once assumed without exemplary reason and justice

Chapter 2: General Rights of the Micronations

Article 4: All micronations are treated with equal value

Article 5: These rights are automatically assumed to a signed micronation

Article 6: These rights cannot be removed or suspended once assumed

Chapter 3: Personal Rights

Article 7: Every citizen has the right to a positive experience with a micronation

Article 8: Every citizen has the right to access members of a micronation's government

Article 9: Every citizen has the right to propose changes about the micronation to the government

Article 10: Every citizen is equal in the eyes of the law

Article 11: Every citizen has the right to a fair trial

Article 12: No citizen can be subject to discrimination

Article 13: No citizen can be subject to harm or inhumane treatment

Article 14: Every citizen has the right to express their own identity and religion freely

Chapter 4: Micronation Rights

Article 15: Every micronation has the right to a positive experience

Article 16: Every micronation has the right to create bonds and ties with other micronations

Article 17: Every micronation is equal in the eyes of the law

Article 18: Every micronation has the right to create and express their identity freely

Chapter 5: Movement

Article 19: Every person has the right to apply for citizenship

Article 20: Every citizen has the right to leave citizenship

Article 21: No citizen can be forcefully expeled or exiled from a micronation without exemplary reason and justice

Chapter 6: Special Protections

Article 22: Discrimination based on age, gender, race and ethnicity, orientation, beliefs or disabilities is prohibited
