# Privacy Policy — Unit Converter

This policy explains, in plain language, what Unit Converter does and does
not do with your data.
## The short version
Unit Converter collects nothing, because it has no way to. The app
requests **zero runtime permissions** and does not even declare the
`INTERNET` permission — it is technically incapable of sending data
anywhere, even if it wanted to. There is no account, no ads, no
analytics, and no network code in this app at all.
## What data the app stores, and where
The only thing Unit Converter stores is your **last-used category and
unit selections** (for example: "Length, converting Miles to
Kilometers"), so the app reopens exactly where you left it. This is
saved in Android's standard app-private storage (`SharedPreferences`)
and never leaves your device.
That's it — no conversion history, no usage logs, nothing else.
## Data we do NOT collect
We do not collect: your name, email, location, contacts, photos,
microphone or camera data, advertising identifiers, analytics events,
crash reports sent to a server, or any other personal information.
There are no third-party SDKs in this app that could collect data on
our behalf.
## Permissions this app requests
**None.** Unit Converter requests zero runtime permissions and declares
no `<uses-permission>` entries in its manifest at all — not for
internet, storage, camera, location, notifications, or anything else.
The app is a self-contained calculator: it reads a number you type,
runs a fixed arithmetic formula locally, and shows the result.
## Android Auto Backup
Android's built-in Auto Backup feature may back up this app's local
settings (your last-used category and units) to your own Google
account, as it does for most apps by default, unless disabled at the
OS level. This is a standard Android OS feature, not something Unit
Converter sets up or controls beyond declaring that local settings
file as eligible for it. That backup is encrypted and tied to your own
Google account — Unit Converter has no access to it, cannot read it,
and has no server that receives a copy. You can turn off Auto Backup
for this (or any) app at any time in your device's system Settings.
## How to clear your data
Since everything is stored locally, clearing it is entirely in your
hands, with no need to contact us:
- **Reset to defaults, keep the app:** Android Settings → Apps → Unit
Converter → Storage & cache → Clear storage (or "Clear data"). This
just resets the remembered category/units back to their defaults.
- **Remove everything:** simply uninstall the app.
There is no account to delete and no server-side copy to request
removal of, because none exists.
## Children's privacy
Unit Converter does not knowingly collect any data from anyone,
including children, because it does not collect data from anyone at
all.
## Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future version adds an
optional feature that does involve data leaving the device), this
document will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will
reflect that. We will not change the app's actual data practices to
something less private without updating this policy first.
