Patriotic Decorating Contest – Official Rules
1. Theme Requirement All decorations must follow a patriotic theme celebrating the United States and Independence Day.
2. Display Deadline Decorations must be fully set up by June 20 and remain displayed until July 5th.
3. Visibility Decorations must be clearly visible from the street or public area so judges can view them.
4. Property Boundaries All decorations must be placed within your own property boundaries and must not extend onto public streets, sidewalks, or neighboring properties.
5. Safety Decorations must be secure, weather-safe, and properly installed. Do not block sidewalks, driveways, fire hydrants, or emergency access areas.
6. Family-Friendly Displays Decorations must be appropriate for all ages. Offensive or inappropriate content is not allowed.
7. No Political Messaging Displays should focus on patriotic celebration. Political campaign messages or endorsements will not be considered.
8. Compliance with Local Rules Decorations must comply with local ordinances, HOA rules, and property regulations.
9. Judging Judges will evaluate entries based on:
o Creativity and originality
o Patriotic spirit
o Overall appearance and curb appeal
o Effort and detail
10. Photos & Promotion By entering the contest, participants agree that photos of their decorated home or business may be used for community promotion or social media.
