Hello! We at Union Debate are excited to announce our new-for-2025 Intermediate Lincoln Douglas Summer course. Our goal is to help students bridge the gap from novice to JV. Speaking for myself personally, this course will teach all the things I had to learn the hard way as I was transitioning to JV and Varsity. We'll be covering how to handle time skews, counterplans, and advanced framework debating. This class will be taught by me (Aaron Hsu), a 3-time NYSFL Championship qualifier and an octafinalist at the 2024 UCLA Invitational in Lincoln Douglas. It is our sincere hope that if you plan on continuing to participate in this amazing activity called debate, that you sign up to take advantage of this completely free opportunity and improve your research and argumentation skills.Â
The topic for this camp will be "Resolved: The United States ought to rewild substantial tracts of land."
If you are registering, please have both an affirmative and negative case prepared by the first day of camp. It is our belief that practice is the most important part of learning, so the camp will feature practice debates almost every day of camp.
The class will run from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (EDT) every day from July 28th to August 1st over Google Meet. There will be an optional camp tournament on August 2nd and August 3rd. After registration, participants will be invited to a Google Classroom.
Make sure to register and have a great summer!
