Hi! We at Union Debate are excited to announce our 2025 Season Primer Course–aimed at building and strengthening the fundementals of Lincoln-Douglas, from case-writing to delivering winning speeches. This course caters to traditional Lincoln-Douglas debaters who are seeking to learn or practice the basics before the upcoming season. Practicing over the summer is essential for dominating tournaments early on in the season, and this course gives you the head start you need to be prepared–especially if you're a complete novice in LD. This course will be taught by Sanya Tarique, a 3-time NYSFL Championship qualifier. It is Union Debate's sincere goal to continue providing access to free resources for all debaters of all skill levels, and we hope you will take advantage of this special opportunity to start the season strong regardless of your previous experience in LD.
The course runs from August 4th to August 15th from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM EDT. Office hours will be held throughout the course. Class will be held on Zoom and materials will be provided in Google Classroom, to which participants will be added shortly after registration.
This course's topic will be the September/October 2025 LD resolution:
Resolved: In the United States criminal justice system, plea bargaining is just.
Attending at least 6 sessions is REQUIRED to retain access of the Google Drive post-course.
Make sure to register! We hope to see you there. Email uniondebate840@gmail.com with any further questions.
