OFFICIAL SERVER RULES
Role-play comes first in every scenario and you must not break character whilst playing on the server. If there is an issue, continue the RP and raise it outside of the roleplay with the player or the staff team via our ticket channel in Discord. If you do choose to communicate with a player via Discord about an encounter and sense the situation is becoming hostile, we would advise you to cease communication for the moment, and have an admin come into the discussion to help resolve the potential issue.
We require all players to utilize the unifyRP Discord for information and communication purposes, if you leave the Discord you will not be able to play on the server. We ask that you set your name to your primary character's name in the discord, For Example, if you're in a faction example LSPD your cop character's name would be the name you set.
There is a ZERO tolerance policy for bullying, hate speech, racism, bestiality, excessive trolling of others, sexual assault/harassment, transphobia, and toxicity.
Off limits RP
There is No tolerance for Racist or slavery roleplay, torture without consent, suicide, infanticide, abortion, and sexual assault/harassment, are all prohibited.
There is no tolerance for hacking or exploiting glitches. If you notice any bugs in the game please submit a ticket!
You must speak English fluently enough for basic communication, Roleplaying other languages is allowed so long as you can communicate effectively enough to not hinder roleplay.
You must be 18 years or older to play on the server.
Your character must be 18 years or older.
Your character must be unique, No egregious copyrighted or super famous names for your characters. This includes movies, games, and other media. Examples of this would be John Wick, Bruce Banner, Tony Stark, etc. However, some famous names are common so if in doubt put a ticket in and ask if a name would be allowed.
You must have a microphone of good quality in order to play on the server.
In character, you MUST value your life, other players, and NPCs at all times.
You cannot incapacitate another player without initiation or RP prior, this includes things such as Random Death Match (RDM) using weapons, vehicles
Do not aggro NPCs. You are entitled to defend yourself or your property however, needlessly killing or beating up NPCs is considered Fail RP
Gatekeeping
No players are allowed to restrict other players from utilizing open lands/ areas on the server. We understand some areas are tied deeply with lore and storytelling. If you do choose to limit roleplay between yourself or your group with other players or groups you must be prepared for ALL in-character consequences.
Meta Gaming
Metagaming is when your character uses knowledge not gathered in the game but learned Out of Character (OOC).
If you play more than one character you must not meta information between characters. No relatives, Siblings, or cousins are allowed on the server, each character you make must be entirely separate from each other. Your characters can NOT know each other as they can't meet in character.
While being logged on to the unifyRP server you are prohibited from:
Being in a Twitch chat/channel of others streaming on our server.
Being in a 3rd party voice chat (Teamspeak or Discord) of any kind.
You cannot use the player list solely to check who is in the game.
IC/OOC Separation
All members of the unifyRP community must be able to separate in-character and out-of-character conflicts and circumstances. It is imperative that out-of-character conflict never bleeds into character actions or comments.
OOC topics that include, but are not limited to stating you will report someone, referencing server rules, talking about topics that are not within the server world, or any information from outside sources like discord or streams are to be kept outside of the server. Use appropriate means to voice OOC comments.
Fail RP
Fail RP/power gaming includes such things as; combat logging, baiting or trolling, abusing game mechanics for one's advantage, roleplaying outside the traits of your character, unrealistic actions, and unsafely transporting people. taking unrealistic jumps, driving a vehicle up a mountain that wouldn't, in reality, be able to do so, forcing unwanted RP on another player, going OOC, and using means outside the server/game mechanics in order to gain an advantage. using an animation to gain the upper hand on another player etc.
Incapacitation and Injury
If you are incapacitated and have to re-spawn you must roleplay your injuries. And avoid hostile interactions for 30 minutes if you’re a civ and 15 minutes if you’re a member of LSPD. This cooldown starts the min you get up from the bed and leave the hospital or are treated and stand up on scene.
If you are treated by Player EMS and re-spawn you are permitted to remember the events that led to your incapacitation.
You may wish to roleplay that you cannot remember the events should you choose to. Be realistic and put the RP first.
If you are not treated by EMS or manually taken to the hospital by a third party after going down and have to take a lifeflight (Local EMS) you will not be able to remember the immediate events that led to your incapacitation. (Who, what, when where and whys that lead to the hostile interaction)
No player can force you to perm (permeant death) your character however, RP has consequences and we want to avoid RP that involves continuous torture and incapacitations without consequences for your character. Staff will speak with you about RP that is conflict based without consequences. This may include a discussion about life sentences in prison or capital punishment.
If you incapacitate a character you cannot take them to the hospital or EMS in order to incapacitate them again. Leave them there and leave the area if that is your intention.
Moving an incapacitated player to a secluded spot with the intention of hindering their ability to receive EMS help is prohibited unless under overwhelming RP circumstances. An Example but not limited, a member of your gang is a snitch or betrayed your group organization.
If you are incapacitated do not return to the area for 45 mins if it may affect the RP situation.
Bans and Penalties
At unifyRP we want players to learn and grow as role players and the focus is not on punishment but improving the quality of the RP. However, any breach of our no-tolerance policy and terms of service as mentioned above will result in a permanent ban.
All player reports will be investigated by staff and remain in confidence.
Staff may use the report to remind players about the rules and improve the quality of RP on the server.
PENALTIES & OFFENSE DETAILS:
1st Offense: Verbal or written warning issued to the player. Serious Offenses can be escalated based on the rule violation at the discretion of the admin.
2nd Offense: 24 hour ban from the server. Some circumstances may also result in a Discord ban (Timeout Feature) for the same period. Serious Offenses can be escalated based on the rule violation at the discretion of the admin.
3rd Offense: 168 hour (7 days) ban from the server. Some circumstances may also result in a Discord ban (Timeout Feature) for the same period. Serious Offenses can be escalated based on the rule violation at the discretion of the admin.
4th Offense: Indefinitely banned from the server and discord (timeout feature). May appeal in 90 days.
If a player has appealed an Indefinite ban and receives any administration action within 90 days that player will be perm banned from the server and discord with no further options of appeal.
Crime
Organized crime scenarios may NOT be committed within 30 minutes before and 15 minutes after a server restart! (This is to ensure effective and fair play of police.) Examples include any criminal activity you intend to commit, This does not include getting stopped by the police due to an outstanding warrant.
If a situation exceeds the server restart, If you were detained and handcuffed you must come back to resume the situation. This applies to all officers and civs active in the situation.
Hostile initiation is defined as the communication of intent to inflict harm or some means of an act against another player or group.
Initiation lasts up to the next scheduled server restart, Once acted upon you can not reinitiate on the same group or player until they have responded accordingly or they have not responded in one server restart cycle. There still needs to be at least 1 hour in between potential hostile interactions.
After you go down in a hostile scenario you can not re-insert yourself until the scenario has concluded or you have waited 30 mins since receiving medical treatment. (Police are exempt from this so long as they are revived by EMS or a fellow officer and they must wait 15 minutes from the time of exiting the hospital or being revived to reengage.)
Robbing people with no RP purpose is prohibited, and Pocket wiping just to troll is not allowed, What you take must make sense for the situation.
You may only hold someone needlessly against their will in Roleplay for up to 30 mins, If they choose to continue past the 30 mins that is that player's choice however if they want to go you should figure a way to release them in RP that makes sense.
Players should not be inserting themselves into ongoing situations between two other parties, No 3rd party hostilities.
Gangs
Gangs or groups should try their best to visually identify others as members of the gang or group they belong to.
Gangs that control the territory are allowed to chase out any unwanted persons from the territory and are allowed to protect their territory from rival gangs. Civilians are not exempt from this rule.
Gang wars should only be initiated through proper roleplay and interactions, not just based on one comment or an OOC dislike of a particular individual.
Gangs/Crews are only allowed to work together on an intel basis they can not under any circumstance offer any physical assistance in an active hostile scenario. For example, a gang can tell another gang they saw a rival gang somewhere but can not actively follow and track a gang or crew for another crew.
If you are killed off and choose to (perm) your character, making a second character as a revenge character is not allowed. New characters should have ZERO previous knowledge of a deceased character's history or gang affiliation from day one. They will need to figure it all out on their own through roleplay.
You should only have one character. Per established crew. This is to prevent any meta-gaming from happening between rival crews.
Max current gang limit of 10 members
Whitelisted Crews can not commit criminal activities with members outside their crew that is whitelisted. All members committing criminal activities with the crew must be hired on through the whitelisting menu mechanic. - (This number will increase as the server population increases).
For example, a gang has three crew members robbing a store and one of the member's friends wants to join, That friend would not be able to participate without being whitelisted into the crew through the gang whitelisting mechanics. This is to ensure the 10-man crew size limit for server health and would prevent number padding. You can not just hire and fire on the spot from your crew menu just to bypass this rule. Doing so could result in administrative actions. You must wait 7 days before hiring a member back to your crew if they were removed.
Rule of 4 & Established Gangs and Exceptions:
Established gangs are gangs that have put in the time and effort to provide great roleplay and prove their crew is a valuable asset to the server and community. By providing great interactions with various members of the community.
Established gangs receive perks like a bump in max members, gang storage and stashes and safehouses (lore appropriate if it applies)
This is a whitelisting, Where they can lock and claim a turf safehouse, and have access to a bossmenu for hiring and firing gang members. Only members hired can participate in organized criminal activities with the crew.
Groups are limited to four (4) active participants during PVP situations.
Staff reserves the right to amend rules and guidelines and will keep players informed of any changes via Discord. It is every player's responsibility to keep up to date with the current rules.
