According to the September 10, 1997 issue of the Baltimore Sun, The body of an unidentified man found on Monday, September 08, 1997, was left near a historic water wheel in Leakin Park after being shot at an unknown location, city police said. It was the sixth time and the second time in a week that a body had been found in the park. Homicide Detective Michael Glenn said a resident of the area walk his Rottweiler in the 4100 block of Franklintown Road discovered the body about 6:20 p.m. when the dog wandered into a sparsely wooded a section about 40 feet off the street.
