According to the August 10, 2000 issue of the Baltimore Sun, the police investigated the apparent slaying of a man whose body was found on August 09 2000 by city work crews near a stream in Leakin Park. Sgt. Scott Rowe, a police spokesperson, said employees testing water for the Department of Public Works found the body about 11:10 a.m. in the woods near Franklintown and Wetheredsville Roads. Rowe said the body is that of a black male age 18-25. He said the death was being treated as a homicide, but he would not say what trauma was evident on the body. No identification was found.Â
