Students

The Cognitive Development Lab (CDL) offers UNCW undergraduate students opportunities to gain research experience and earn credit through Directed Independent Study (PSY 291, PSY 491).

We especially encourage prospective graduate students interested in experimental, developmental research on cognition—particularly conceptual development and categorization—to apply. The CDL provides research training through the Psychological Science M.S. and Ph.D. programs, as well as the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program within the Department of Psychology. 

Community

Our community partners, including preschools and schools in the Wilmington, North Carolina area, are invaluable to our research. For over 20 years, we have conducted numerous studies onsite within the community with the wonderful support of school directors, teachers, and parents. We greatly appreciate these ongoing collaborations and warmly welcome new partners to participate in our studies.
