I have set the category to "Business" and added it to a Temporary Web Exception policy that we use to test websites before granting further access. This policy has worked in the past for allowing access to a website.

It looks like our Sophos endpoing clients were not downloading policy for a couple of days. They seem to have corrected themselves, but I'm monitoring the situation and will contact support if needed.

Wouldn't you know it - the FQDN I use to reach one customer's Sophos appliance is also classified as 'Alcohol & Tobacco' - it's the second choice at the top of the category list. Looks like there might be a bug that incorrectly applies that category to uncategorized FQDNs.

impossible to do since the admin is tied to the chromebooks serial number unless you somehow guessed the administrators password to untie the chromebook (which wont happen anytime soon) so youre best bet is to just stop trying.

Yes, You can unblock every site by clicking on Lightspeed Filter Agent, click View web permissions, scroll down until you see Insecure Content and press Allow, Continue scrolling 'till you see Your device use, then press Block. There you go! you now have unblocked sites! Hope y'all find this helpful!

I have several countries blocked in our firewall but due to business reasons I need to allow one website from one of those countries. I added a custom URL category and added the site. I then created a URL filtering profile and added that category to it. Then assigned that profile to the block rule. It is still blocking the site. I turned on dynamic URL filtering and added the sites to the allow list in the profile. Still nothing. Any ideas?

Now the security rule should be added with this profile. Action in the security rule is "Allow". The reason is you are allowing from security rule point to allow traffic but from the URL point it know it only allows the custom category and blocks the rest of the category.

I would like to request my site be unblocked. The error message I'm seeing is a certificate invalidation error with the name of the certificate containing an "allot.com". I have a user who is reporting the following information:

Yes, my home Wi-Fi is Vodafone but my Mobile data is Lebara (maybe there are also blocking because I have tested using only my Mobile data and the same certificate issue appeared with this allot.com). Using none of them the app works, same error message.

Hi @gymrats_mack. We understand how concerning this must be. To firstly make sure that we're on the same page, can you please send over a screenshot or video of what Vodafone users are seeing when trying to access the URL in question? The reason I ask is because I've been able to successfully access the site to download your app, both using a Vodafone broadband and mobile network connection.

Hey @Jason, thanks for looking into this. Here is a screenshot of the user in my original post. She is in Madrid using Lebara cell and Vodafone home wifi. I have other users reporting issues in the UK, but I've been unable to acquire and further details from them. These issues were reported on Monday, April 8th of this week.

Thank you for the screenshots @gymrats_mack. As the restriction is from Vodafone Spain's end, this would explain why I was able to access the site here in the UK on both Vodafone mobile and broadband. As we don't have control over Vodafone Spain here at Vodafone UK, I've reached out to a member of our Network team to check if they have a contact over at Vodafone Spain to assist.

Thank you @gymrats_mack. For the Vodafone user(s) affected in the UK, I've raised the URL in question to be reviewed under the reference number INC000005103366. We'll let you know as soon as there's an update, so do keep your eyes peeled.

You're welcome. In regards to the user in Madrid @gymrats_mack, we've heard back from a contact at Vodafone Spain. They've advised that they have arranged to have the URL reclassified for Vodafone Spain. However, they've also instructed that the user get in touch with Lebara in Spain as they've been migrated to a new network (MsMvil, other company).

This extension will retrieve the correct IP of a blocked site using Google Public DNS and connect to the website by directly using its ip address in the address bar. Some sites only work over https. You'll receive a "your connection is not private" warning, but you can bypass this by clicking "advanced" and "proceed".Won't work on servers using http/2.reCAPTCHA will not work on most sites, look for a "having problems with the captcha" link or some alternative.

This is still exactly the same (28.06.2021) - sites get blocks, add to unblocked url - success. Refresh in browser and site is still blocked along with another alert to say it is blocked. Vicious cycle. Very poor product experience. I cannot do my job with sites blocked that I specifically need unblocked - Therefore my only option right now is to disable the product completely - please update me when this whitelisting actually works.

I echo all the concerns expressed in this thread. This "feature" of automatically blocking websites is not only ethically and morally wrong, an incredibly poor technological decision, and legally challengable. I didn't install the Nighthawk router this afternoon to improve my ability to work from home just to have about half the websites I need to visit blocked -- with no way for me, the owner and user, to whitelist those websites immediately. I must depend on the kindness, good graces, and timing of Netgear employees.

Additionally -- and please do not take this personally -- Netgear is providing incredibly poor customer service (to say the least). I am not singling you out personally; you're a frontline community moderator. Your job is to respond with the standard talking points your supervisors have provided. And I do appreciate your efforts to carry these messages back to the right folks at Netgear.

It's now 2022 and this still isn't fixed. 30 years in IT and this is the first paid security product I've run into that doesn't have a whitelist function. Oh and now the submit site throws an error as well. Disabled Armor. Won't be renewing.

I just registered a domain and Armor immediately blocked it. I can't get access to it. I see all these complaints from people over two years ago where you people said you would fix this freaking problem and it still exists.

I'm just here in February 2022 to say ... I wish I had read this beforehand. Trying to access a work profile to edit the page, and I can't because Netgear Armor flags the page with a provacy warning. Sigh ...

The genius of Netgear is astounding. Add to this: there is no option to whitelist the URL offered in the app or on the armor website. So, I've canceled autorenew on Armor, and have disabled it halfway through the first year of my subscription. Apparently, Netgear has adopted a software model like Microsoft's, but on steroids: WE, the customer, are their beta team as with Microsoft; however, Microsoft programmers have at least some talent. Netgear? Nope. Frankly, I'm tired of their updates bricking the unit. Tired of doing factory resets and reconfiguring my network to work around their latest update FLICK up. Tired of wrestling with Netgear Armor to access the sites I've used for decades. (On top of this, I now have a very negative view of Bitdefender. Way to go, Netgear! Way to go...) I should have learned my lesson with the Nighthawk modem and extender that preceded this... Netgear has received all of the money they'll ever receive from me. I'm now searching for another mesh solution for my home so I can relegate this crap to the trash heap where it belongs.

Having the same issue as described here in this thread with Orbi 750 product. It is difficult to understand why this feature is missing. Turning all protection off, to allow a known good site to work, is extreme to say the least. Please do something to correct this issue.

I have a pretty new site, nothing shady has ever happened with it, some of my friends have reported that they can't access said site at their company. How can I figure what lists I'm on and how to get off those lists? One of them indicated their firewall is Palo Alto Networks.

There are a whole host of companies that make firewalls and maintain their own lists of sites some categorizations some with risk ratings. These companies do allow you to submit a categorization for a site or request a review/change. The thing you should google for here is "URL Filtering" and "Firewall Companies".

By doing this I found that Palo Alto Networks classified our site as "porn". Why? I don't know. I found out by visiting: (which is currently quite a broken page, but I got it to work with a little finagling)

My first instinct was to assume that my Pinterest account was blocked. But I could log into my Pinterest account just fine. In fact, I have been logging into my Pinterest account periodically throughout the week!

Pro tip: Make sure you check Google Analytics regularly. I always find interesting things that are happening to my website. Had I checked my traffic earlier, I would have fixed this Pinterest issue much quicker and my traffic would probably not have been affected as much.

My Pinterest Ad Rep very kindly helped me to get the Pinterest team to look at it and got my website unblocked within 10 hours. Imagine my relief when I woke up in the morning to find out that my site had been unblocked!

It has yet to fully recover, to be honest. I am not sure if it ever will. Currently, my Pinterest traffic is still down about 20%, and it has been almost a month since I discovered that my site was blocked!

I also learned that I am now becoming less and less reliant on Pinterest to get organic traffic. I knew this at the back of my mind before the Pinterest block, but the fact that my site got blocked for an entire week without me noticing anything further highlighted to me how little my business relies on Pinterest organic traffic now. Thankfully, I also focus heavily on getting SEO traffic! 152ee80cbc
