History of the group

This group of ladies started out making regular size tied baby quilts for each baby that is baptized in our church. We found that we had so many quilts ahead that last year we gave 48 quilts to Cross-lines Community Outreach in Kansas City, Kansas, for their Christmas store. This year we will be giving our extra quilts here in Emporia to SOS and Birthright.

Another one of our projects is to make mini-blankets and stockinette hats for hospitals across the country for an organization called Teeny Tears, a nonprofit service organization for families that have lost a premature child through stillbirth loss. This small act can be so comforting for a family dealing with a devastating loss. Last year we sent 310 mini blankets and hats, so far this year we have sent over 650 mini blankets and hats to 17 different states.

Our group has also made small pillows for SOS Shelter and abuse services and ditty bags for Church Women United.
