Umuranga ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Umuranga mobile dating application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the App.

We collect the following types of information:
Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier from Firebase Authentication.
Profile information: Gender, age, photos, bio, interests, profession, religion, education, location (city), and answers you provide during onboarding.
Identity verification: If you submit ID verification, you may upload a government-issued ID photo and a selfie. Our team reviews these manually. Verification documents are deleted after review is complete.
Location: During registration only, we request a one-time device location check to confirm you are in Rwanda. We do not continuously track your location.
Messages and media: Text messages and media you send in chat (photos, audio, video). Chat media is designed to auto-expire after 24 hours.
Usage and device data: Push notification tokens, app activity related to matches, likes, reports, and subscriptions.
Payment-related data: Subscription tier, voucher redemption records, and promotion status. We do not store credit card numbers in the App. Purchases may be completed via voucher codes or Google Play Billing when enabled.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as follows:
Other users: Profile information and messages you choose to share with matches.
Service providers that help us run the App, including:
Google Firebase (authentication, push notifications)
Google Cloud (API hosting and photo storage)
Database hosting (secure cloud database)
Daily.co (in-app audio/video calls, when you use calling features)
Google Play (in-app purchases, when enabled)
Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect safety and rights.
Account and profile data is kept while your account is active.
Chat media is automatically deleted after 24 hours where technically possible.
ID verification photos are deleted after manual review.
You may request account deletion via Profile settings or by contacting us.
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Umuranga is for adults aged 18 and older only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Umuranga is designed for users in Rwanda. Your data may be processed on servers located outside Rwanda (including the United States) by our cloud service providers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date above.
