About

  • The Sales Competition is case study based where students are provided a sales scenario in which they have 20 minutes to fact-find the "buyer", present their product recommendation, and close the sale
  • Students will be judged (via live stream) by a panel of local professionals, entrepreneurs, and UM faculty
  • Competition is limited to 20 students
  • Round 1 is Sept 25 & 26 (10 competitors each day)
  • The top 8 competitors from the first two days will compete in the Final Round on Sept 27
  • An Awards & Networking Luncheon will be held on October 3rd to recognize the competitors and award scholarships to the top 3 finishers. This is also a great opportunity to network with the judges
  • The top 2 competitors have a chance to represent the UM at the National Collegiate Sales Competition in April 2020 in Kennesaw, Georgia and the AMA Sales Competition in New Orleans in spring 2020

1st Place = $2,500

2nd Place = $1,000

3rd Place = $500

  • Students judged on 7 categories: Approach, Needs Identification, Product/Service presentation, Overcoming Objections, Close, Communication Skills, Overall (see evaluation sheet)
